Dear Humpers, I like your taste in movies and games that is why I keep lurking these forums.

I need a movie tonight that will blow me away, a movie that is made to watch alone in total immersion. A movie like 2001: A space odyssey or Mr. Nobody. I'm on the search for something extraordinary which I may have missed.

Name your best movies, chance is I've seen them Razz

also kinda in the mood for sci-fi

The fountain and Firefly(serenity) are awesome. Totally forgot about Pan's labyrinth, never had the urge to see it, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised Smile

Also got a movie called Dark City, just never bothered to watch it.

Labyrinth is very good.

Dark City, well it is OK.

Children of Men, Gattaca and Equilibrium come to mind in the sci-fi department.

Yeah I'll watch Pan's, great movies all those posted, the man from earth is legendary and sooo underestimated.

The descent alone with total immersion? I'd fucking jump out the window if I watched it like that the first time

One of my favorite movies ever is After Life (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165078/), a wonderful little Japanese low budget movie that just hits all the right strings I guess.

It's about a place people go to after they have died. Here, you have exactly one week to choose one single memory of your life, because your soul can only carry one in the after life. At the end of the week, the memory will be reenacted the way you remembered (which doesn't necessarily have to be what really happened), after which you ascend to the after life.

No action here, mostly just people talking actually. It deals with how we remember things, like the small details, how they slowly change with time, and the universality in people about the things we hold dear. I can't recommend this one enough.
