Is there anyway to run vsync without getting capped at 30fps? I've tried a bunch of stuff that worked with crysis 1 and 2 such as enabling triple buffering through nvidia inspector and Alt tabbing / Alt enter. Best i could come up with was a weird you get Vsync but also only 30fps or 60fps no inbetween which was quite terrible rapidly going from 60 to 30 to 60 to 30. I've also tried limiting the frames to 60 through inspector and having vsync off in game. I get 60fps but alot of scrren tearing which in my eyes is unbearable. Any help would be appreciated.
Tbh You shouldnt get a 30 fps cap with vsync. That sounds really weird.
Why not? Even when he drops 1 fps under 60, vsync locks the fps to 30...
This happens in alot of games
Altho in this game it shouldn't be happening (atleast it's not happening for me).
So maybe custom settings in CCC/NVCP that fucks shit up?

why is that weird ? its doing what it is dupposed to do. cap the fps to be sync with the screens refresh rate. And if it can't render 60 fps to match the 60 hz of the screen, it will render half, 30, so it remains sync (1:2 instead of 1:1).
Hm.. I think that indeed I can't hurt the final boss. Playing with the crackfix.

Will I get a warning if I start another Crysis 3 thread so we can talk about the fucking game and not your bs tech spec crap?
The last 10 pages are filled with whiney fucktards, bring it to the technical forum for christ sake so we can discuss game play and have some answer to same.

I agree with this part. Just came to post the same thing btw.
Just pages and pages of tech talk.
I thought this is Crysis 3 topic? Which includes everything from gameplay to technical talk, not some average shit console port, where you only discuss about how shit it is.

Use d3doverrider - worked for me.
A lot of games have a terrible implementation of the Vsync feature.

Thanks alot it worked great for me too!
And.. for all of you that bitched and moaned because I asked a single question that rendered the game almost unplayable for me. Your pathetic go find yourself a life maybe you'll be happier and moan less.

Im saying its weird since ive never ever experienced it.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
anyway, played a bit further. Somewhere in level 2 now, just after you come across the stalkers ... but its really not motivating me to go on. I mean, the story is like already all there and you know exactly whats going to happen ...

Took me 20 minutes to download, since I sit on the shitter for longer than that, ...
Yea, and you're complaining that we aren't sticking to the gameplay discussion?

Well, I didn't mean to be rude at all. It just looks bad as always in my case
I find it sort of herpaderp how big part of this thread's later part is only tech talk and not about story or anything else.
Game looks good, although for some reason a lot of the textures come out all plasticy like they do in Tech 4.
I've been close to 85 degrees at times though it's at 60% fan speed which I normally use because above that it starts making a lot of noise and temps don't really change that much.
(It can handle up to 105 or around there so I'm not too worried - it'll throttle down too if needed - but this game does make the GPU run pretty hot in comparison to other games, though I don't check that often.)
(SMAA 4x since it uses SSAA is probably one of the reasons behind this.)

Nice difference to my Accelero cooler Im getting max of 52C @ 100% fan speed (which is nearly silent still). Overclocked to the limits also.
Well a third party GPU cooling solution is usually going to be much better, this cooler (And GPU PCB.) is pretty good otherwise (65 - 70 c temps normally, around what most tests place it at.) but there are some exceptions.
(Furmark apparently, plus now also Cry-Engine.)
(GPU has two bios modes, 950 Mhz which boost to 1Ghz when viable and a silent fan profile or this mode which has it at 1000 Mhz core and boost to 1050 or some such but slightly louder.)
Ghz bios sucks, it uses for 1050mhz core clock 1.25V which is way too much what it would actually need. I have normal 7970, can run with 1.25V over 1200 core.
