So Homeworld and Darksiders IPs are on sale. I wonder if they find a buyer? But who could do justice to Homeworld series?

Warhammer 40K license end ups with Slitherine (makers of Unity of Command).

Source: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/15/waaagh-slitherine-gets-warhammer-40k-license/

So it seems that next W40K will be turned based startegy.

who ? never heard of them.. but looking at their games, mostly just low budget generic ww2 games with next to no graphics

sigh, i dont have faith in them making a good w40k game.

Oh well, i hope SEGA won't fuck up Relic and they will do DOW3

Actually Slitherine got the license for TBS games only in that specific universe. And even if their games are low budget, they are pretty damn good. Also, they've merged with Matrix Games last year, so they are on their way to become a mid type of company.

The best guys that Slitherine has to work on this are the same guys that made the Panzer Corps series. The very same guys that made a more than decent job reviving the Panzer General style.

Great, probably some ip holder that does nothing with it and lets it collect dust. Well guys guess we probably will never see a true sequel to one of the greatest real-time space strategy games of its era. Sad

Well you don't need the IP to make a true in everything but the name sequel. Smile

Lot 1 (Red Faction): Nordic Games
Lot 2 (Homeworld): Gearbox Software
Lot 3 (MX): Nordic Games
Lot 4 (Darksiders): Nordic Games
Lot 5 (Owned Software/Original IPs): Nordic Games (Everything else) + 505 Games (Drawn to Life games)
Lot 6 (Licensed Software): Nordic Games

Sup Nordic Games.

Homeworld rights were bought for $1.35M. Shame not a competent publisher could fork out as little as $2M and GBX got them.

But additionally now I understand why GBX got them. I kept thinking but these guys make FPS' only why would they want this IP? Easy, they bought the rights because they were dirt cheap and they can make money out of abusing the IP very easily.

They're not JoWood. They're the guys that bought JoWood and they seem to be a hell of a lot better than them. I trust them. It could have went a lot worse for Darksiders, so I'm actually glad they took the IP. They also got Red Faction, so I hope they have plans for that too.

What exactly makes Nordic Games any better then? Because all they've done is buy JoWood. They've done jackshit since then (almost 2 years ago now, btw). They've got a whole bunch of IPs and have done crap all with them Smile

Freespace, dammit. That was a proper space sim. Those games were a piece of work. Able to stand and even surpass the great space sims of the time ( Wing Commander, X-Wing Alliance or X-Wing vs Tie- Fighter ).

Why, Interplay?! Why?! Why the frag Deep Silver didn't buy the IP along with Volition?! But, again they didn't want anything to do with Red Faction, either...And Homeworld at Gearbox...Yeah! Great homes for classics....

holy shit I Could afford that!!! What the fuck!
Buy it for 7500 and sell it to someone even cheaper and get % of the earnings.
Freespace alone is worth millions. It has a huge fanbase!

UGH I hope a game comes out from this. Love me some freespace.
