Well, Orly is definitely right in one thing. Many people's memories of the first Crysis are way above what the game deserves.

Crysis 1 on consoles has prone
Crysis 2 has a form of semi-automatic lean eg when you are behind an object
Crysis 3 has neither Why?

New enemies spawn in on occasion but you can always clear them out, even the Stalker attack in the train yard before you meet up with Psycho on the second level.
(There's quite a few of them though and you can't take their cells for XP this time, or what that glittery stuff in Crysis 2 was.)
(They do however react really well to different attacks, blew a hole in the head of one of them after I shot the mask off, could do that partially in Crysis 2 as well but it wasn't as detailed.)

http://postimage.org/image/4pi3jzgrj/full/ | Yeah, I caught that on the train-yard level and on another one (can't remember which now).
And it's done in an hilariously bad way, with enemies popping out of the air.
Even more so because it happened with a couple of stalkers... $66M blown on this and they can't even bother to having the enemies (especially agile and mobile enemies like stalkers) jumping out of an outside map border into the map instead of teleporting them.

I'm sorry, mate, but this is just like the "Oh, it's just the nostalgia!!!". For me they're not just memories. I know how the first game is because I only uninstalled it yesterday. For me it really is better than 2 and 3 and just a really good game in general. I don't know about others, but that's how it is for me. | Yep, plan to do that (play crysis 1 and warhead)as soon as I finish this one.

Yeah there are a few groups appearing from the borders of the map but as you said they tend to just pop up somewhere in the grassy vegetation and charge at you.
(And once they've all been cleared a new group will somehow still appear to assault your position once you reach the objective, only to disappear completely a short while later.)
(There is a few other situations where just going ahead will clear out all enemies behind you, they just disappear although you can't usually see it happening.)

That comment wasn't really directed at you, and what I mean by it is that many people are belittling Crysis 3 based on how "fantastic" the first Crysis was. For me the first Crysis is still the best of all the three games, and I was playing it recently as well. But it's not so in a way that makes its two sequels complete garbage. It has a few elements that made the experience better, sure, but technical aspects aside, it wasn't an exceptional game and there were many games that year that were superior in every aspect, except graphics (BioShock, HL Episode 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SOC, etc.)
Bottom line, Crysis 1 was better sure, but just don't exaggerate its quality beyond what it really was with the purpose of making Crysis 3 a shit game. You want Crysis 3 look like shit game? Compare it to the big leaguers, Deus Ex series, Half-Life series, or find your best example

Well put bro - i also agree Crysis 1 was the best of the series as a "whole package" but Crysis 3 while not as good as Crysis 1...still is a decent game as far as "gameplay" goes and some new gameplay elements introduced to the First Person Shooter Genre which is NEVER a bad thing..we need to see no innovation brought to shooters because quite honestly..the shooter genre desperately needs new innovation brought to the genre. Not saying Crysis 3 is a whole different kind of Shooter..no ..no way but it does introduce some new elements into the shooter genre which is always a good thing.
I dont mention Crysis 2 because i havent finished it completely yet...i plan on stopping Crysis 3 very soon at the 4th level and finish Crysis 2...i already beat Crysis 1 three times lol... but i never finished Crysis 2 for what ever reason..just too busy with other games at the time but it seemed decent and looked pretty damn good on PC with all the mods, extra texture packs, etc
Another thing that is obviously great about Crysis 3 is that it sports "next gen" type visuals when playing on all "very high settings" ...if people would play the game past that unbelievably shoddy optimized first level of Crysis 3....it comes out to be not so bad performance wise...and we know why the first level runs so shitty...the "rope" thing among a few other things really were not optimized like it should of been..but the rest of the game...runs pretty damn good, Look at my sig...those are my specs and i now run the game on all "very high" graphic settings with X2 MSAA the only thing tuned down a bit and im all 45 - 55 framerates pretty much at all times at 1440x900 ...to me it's a perfect resolution that gives you very nice resolution and gives you some added frames per second but yet still are able to play the game at VERY HIGH settings wtih crysis 3...it's not much different than 1080p imho
It baffled me how the first level was mostly corridors levels or indoor levels and the performance was staggering pretty bad but soon as that 2nd level..which is the first time you get out doors into that huge wide open environment that is just simply a BEAUTIFUL LEVEL visually...the game framerates were very very good on my rig. Makes me wonder how the hell did Crytek drop the ball with the first level when it comes to optimizations...it just baffles me so much lol
Anyways... yeah haters will be haters, i said it before in here..never-mind them..they will always be around. Neogaf,etc..no matter which gaming forums i go into..haters and fanboys and biased schmuck will always be around ...so you just gotta overlook their stupidity in opinion and do your discussion with more "level headed" gamers that keep things real rather do stealth trolling to purposely make a decent game look bad because they happen to dislike the series or their extra large butt plug got stuck too far up their arse that they are having a shit day so they come to gaming message boards and stealth troll
Crysis 3 imho is a next generation game in terms of graphics technology goes, it will quickly be surpassed...yes indeed once these new consoles come out at the end of this year..but make no mistake about it..if you got the hardware to play C3 on all very high settings and you have a unbiased fair and balanced level head on your shoulders..you know it is indeed Next Generation level visuals

Aye, no suspicious respawning seen so far, though enemies are reinforced by other units if you get spotted (but that is actually a good feature).
I'm still in the first half of the game and I have to say, I'm enjoying it much more than Crysis 2 (not a great achievement, but still ), if only for the better stealth mechanics and impressive visuals. Won't comment on the story because this series has always been quite the train wreck plot-wise and I don't want to insult anyone when I say that even chavs can produce better lines than the ones in the game.
