And no "turn off the frat boys rambling" option either.
I mean I can see how hard it is to fill 4 hours of dead air to make it seem like 3-4 guys are having the time of their lives playing a co-op city sim game for marketing reasons...But dont ham it up so much it sounds like I'm listening to one of those morning FM rock jock gangs either...haha

It seems there is kind of an "offline" mode where you create your own region and set it to private? Except they force you to still be online. Seems like a good starting point to crack this thing.

Its still saved online, the only difference between private and public. is you have to invite others to start a city on it, compared to they can jsut start one.

ok i used flyvpn taiwanese server and im currently downloading the game@mindblowing 70kb/s
thank god its only 268.32mb...but you still need 12gb hd space
still no rls except 3DMGAME-SimCity.Full.Digital.Deluxe.Edition-3DM?
doubt it'll be cracked..Always online drm..
Wouldn't say that. There were enough other games, that had an always "on" drm and that were cracked. An Sim City isn't running on any servers if you play alone. Just saving your games on their server and checking for a connection.

All the region-related stuff is handled server-side, so whether you play alone or not, anything multi-region needs to have a webconnection to function.
I think it was totalbiscuit that mentioned it in one of his videos that the game utilized about 40mb data an hour, which is quite a lot for something that would just check whether or not a connection is there.
Funny... Everyone was bashing this game to hell and back with the decisions that were made to make it like Farmville with very expensive pricing and stupid DLC and yet the last pages have all been about where people can get a key and how their game keys have already arrived...
People why you do this? The same people here who call people up to NOT fund companies who make DERPED games and so forth and now you are all like TAKE MY MONEY by funding a DERPED game.
We should all start instead sending money in envelopes to companies with the amount of what you think the game really is worth. For example i thought about this. Aliens Colonial Marines. They are still asking 50€ for it. I would send Gearbox 15€ writing that this is what i think your game is ACTUALLY worth.
PS: Publishers are still the root of all evil!
Pretty much what I expected. The only half-interesting feature is the city-interaction, everything else seems to be done in other games a thousand times better. The little good there is just isn't enough to force me to deal with the DRM, the DLC-milking and the features that were derped to oblivion for the sake of cramming is social-gaming (gotta justify that DRM folks) and painfully obvious milking attempts.
EDIT: aren't you glad they forced a single-player genre to be always-online.

Here in Korea it's even much cheaper, but I still won't buy it. Regular edition is about $40 USD, and deluxe is around $60.
When this was first announced, I still have the email I sent EA support asking if the version I bought from this store would be playable in English, it would.
I had full intentions of buying this game, but their absolute fucking idiocy drove me away.

That statement is a bit wrong and opinionated, of course with every game franchise that gets mainstreamed (in a bad way) you'll see a lot of negativity in it's thread. Not everyone was negative on here but in most times, people on that side of the debate are more inclined to share their thoughts on the subject.
Now when a game is about to release this changes a bit. The ones that do enjoy and love a game start to come out of their hidings since they are looking for information and possibly be in the company of likeminded people to create a community feeling.
Give it a bit more time and it will change in a bit more balanced thread with people giving their negative and positive views of the game.
My take on the game (Game! Not their handling of the business model!):
Still looks enjoyable. Might help that I never expected an SC4, who knows. True I liked it fleshed out some more, less streamlined, and a bit more complexity added. But it still shows as a game that looks fun. I don't think what they offer is worth their origin price so I'll be waiting it out a bit longer so I get it at a price I think is right. And that also gives me some opportunity to wait off and see how their business model will turn out.
