Odd, did you give other (older/newer) drivers another try?
Because usually overheating is really rarely caused by just the game, the game can't do more then use 99% gpu (wich should mean that it reaches it's limit and it SHOULD be able to handle that)...
Try running furmark and see if you get the same |
I haven't tried different drivers yet....I was having the same issue with Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie Army...but I lowered the settings and the temps became normal 75 to 80 degrees. I am still experimenting...but thanks for the advice. I will post back if I can get the temps normal while playing.
Edit....well lowering the settings has helped so far I played for 20min and the temps run between 78-90 degrees....will try more tomorrow. |
Defo either something wrong with your card or the airflow in your case.
Because on highest settings when the card is being used at it's max, 99%, then it overheats for you above 100 degrees, but lowering, thus using lesser gpu, is still causing it to get too hot (90 is too hot, max you want a gpu to get 80-85).
So either RMA the thing or check your case (keep an eye out on cpu temps, if it's case then that prolly reaches/exceeds limits aswell)
400 series of nvidia did had a few problems with fan (my 470 went to 110 degrees in the first week, same with my friends 480), so you might have one of those faulty

One positive is that I can aim for myself. It almost... almost.... feels.. like.. a game. |
Headshots seem real easy - you noticed any aim assist going on? Don't think I saw a way to disable that in the options if the game indeed has it (can't say for sure since I haven't really tested it, but there's been a quite few times now that I didn't aim carefully at all and got one).

The derp is strong in this thread. It's funny how every other series that gets "streamlined" is shat on on this forum. Magic of the boobs I guess. And the moaning.

314.07 here and just ran through my 3-hour morning playthrough of the game and all was silky smooth and crash-free.

Use FXAA. it looks nice enough and SSAA for 660Ti is a big no no. |

So for someone with 1 monitor, it shouldn't matter what setting you used there.

KB+M functions JUST fine. There really is no need for gamepad in this one. Except for maybe until you get used to the QTE's, which are pretty much there for the death animations.

Many report of random crashes, most of them, if not all, are Nvidia users.
It's pretty major from what I heard. |
tessilalation off and the crashes are gone
(cant spell it right) |
on my system tessellation is ON. played 5-5.5hrs, i havent experienced any crash so far. if you updated your driver to 314.14 Beta that could be a problem dont know. im on 314.07 whql.

Tonizita, make sure you don't turn it off right after you start. Play at least 1+ hour or so, it really opens up.

It ran pretty ok for me (min 39 fps) but so did GTA4's...

The card is almost 2 years old....I use the EVGA Precision to increase the fan speed. Normal temps when I am not playing anything is 35-38 degrees in the winter and 40-45 in the summer.....I pulled the card and used compressed air to clean out the dust (not much). As far as case flow I have a fan that blows in and one that exhausts. COD and DmC have no heat issues at all. I was thinking of investing in a new video card. I have a 260 on a quad core I will try the game on and see how the temps are with it....thanks again for the help with this!!
Edit...I ran that FURMARK test and sure as shit it is the card....2.30 min in and it ran up to 105 degrees....time for a new card...but I will pull the heatsink and re-paste it first!! Just to see. Fixed a few RROD on xbox360's so am sure I can do this also....

I honestly don't understand how this looks good. I'm not talking about the visual quality of the port, but of the game itself. The devs shot this game in exactly the same place Ubisoft shot AC3 as both look pretty much the same. It's such a washed out and muddy mess. It can probably get fixed with the same SweetFX settings that fix AC3, but I'm just saying. I for one am getting tired to see games looking like this (especially since I appreciate a lot the visual art part of a game) and at the same time I don't understand the reason for it.
