I'm back. There were 3 other people with friends looking as well. I brought a friend but he stayed in the car. Canadian punjabi couple are the owners. Very nice. Beautiful clean new place.
We will see.

I've seen some show about redecorating and buying new properties, the show was in Canada, and every single house they redecorated had this enormous basement that was being used as a living room/ rec room etc.
So if this place is anything like those on the show (and it is Canada, so I don't have a reason to doubt  ), I'm sure it'll be fine 
From all the threads I've read about you (mostly those in VIP) I know you'll get through this. I know for a fact that you are a really strong person, you'll beat this bump and keep on rocking

Anywho, sorry you're down on your luck Pistol, been over a year since I think we chatted last. If I had my own place I'd let you crash here until you got back on your feet.
I had to find a place to live and found craigslist to be the best damned thing ever. Found a lot of cheap awesome places to live around here because of it. Maybe you can try your luck with that?

OK..I got a place. It's smaller then I wanted after seeing some of the nicer bigger suits but those landlords weren't too excited about me so I had to make concessions. I don't have a rental history, my employment at current job is 5 months (they didn't know about that) Really they would be lucky to have me.
So I got a smaller place. Still $600. In a newer house but it was banged up from the previous tenants. A couple of holes in the walls, lots of scuff marks. Hole in the carpet. But it was very doable. So I talked to her and I can't paint the place, I can fill the hole. I have a area rug to cover the hole in the living room. With a fresh coat of wall paint & white molding the place would look totally different.
The whole place need a good scrub. I will re-cock the parts of the bathroom.
Laundry wasn't included but she liked me and it was just me so she is ok with sharing laundry.
YEP, using Craigs list
Apparently they had to fix the toilet - so the water was off to it. I need to make sure that works.
I need a door handle for the bedroom.
I am hoping this is ok but her mother owns the place who she says is in Montreal. Her and her sister live there. About 25 I would say. So my agreement isn't with the owner but She also doesn't have a lease which could be good if I buy a place within 6 months to a year.
I get it on the 15th. I will get it ready and clean and start sleeping there on April when the ex comes back from his trip to Hawaii.

Internet is included. Little does she know how much I download. I'm going to be killing her net so i'm grabbing whole seasons of shows that I like to have things to watch right now.

I'm getting a really REALLY bad feeling.
Went to drop off post dated check.
She said she was late. Then called to say just leave the check in the mailbox. Then she said something about having to grabbing her keys off a friend???? WTF does that mean?
I did leave the check in the box, but I wasn't too keen on the open exterior mailbox. Not one of those kind that drop to the inside. But I left it in there. I got about 1/2 way back and just feel sick about it. It's weird. Why isn't she here. So I txt'ed her, she said it was ok to leave it and she was on her way home. Then I said I would wait for her, and she said she was getting her nails done. Then I got some sort of txt that may have been meant for someone else? Something about her giving me the place except for her sister?
Thats another thing, she is defaulting to someone I haven't even met yet.
I'm getting some serious something isn't right signs.
I took my check back and I feel stressed, but so much better. I was starting to feel sick.
SO IM OFF LOOKING AGIAN Sad Sad Sad

OK..... OMG, the best thing happened EVER!
There was another place that I called about a while ago, and they called me back the same night I took accepted the other place. I didn't have to but I returned the call saying I had found a place and thanked them for their call..... <--left it good,
Anyway when I was finished grabbing my check back I pulled into a spot cuz and just sat there. Panic. So I called them back and left a message asking to please schedule me in, that I was getting a really bad feeling about leaving a deposit with the place. I think she could hear it in my voice because she called me back right away.
Went to see it. Pretty big, washer dryer, dishwasher, microwave, cable, wifi, fridge and oven of course. It's not modern, but I don't care. I have a parking spot by the house. A little backyard spot.
Landlord is upfront, friendly, And she said I could take my dog there from time to time. Amazing. I listened to my gut and it was right. The universe has better plans for me.

I don't know if it was a scam per say..... But I know there would of been all sorts of problems and probably a quick you gotta get out. I mean here I was at a scheduled time to drop off money and she is off getting her nails done. It says a lot if you can't clean up the place too for someone before they move in. She was a flake.
But I have my keys now!!! I am going over tonight and drop a bit of kitchen stuff. She is painting the bathroom for me. Then I'm going to bring some bathroom stuff over.
THEN!!!! I get to spend some money that I've put away. Maybe buy some mounting shelves, maybe a piece of furniture or so. Nothing too expensive.

So today is the day I move my big stuff in. My dad is coming by to give me a hand with his truck. Not too happy I bought a TV. But thats ok. I know where they are coming from.
So I will have a place to plant my ass - a couch. Apparently it has flowers? I don't know but it is clean and an extra from their house. Almost all the small stuff I have done already. Many many trips in my car and put everything away. A lot of my items already spot in my place they call home.
