Amusing.
Because in BI Store it was like $7 cheaper, also i cant buy off Steam now because they have charged money already.
This entire mess is beyond fucking ridiculous.
Also worth of mentioning i got the cheapest edition (Alpha Edition), think about people which have paid $90 for supporter edition and they are in the same situation.
installed 314.14, installed DXSetup from the arma3 directory, turned off my antivir, don't have any firewall running, restarted steam and already let steam check the files if something is missing
...well, it's an alpha ^^.
/edit: WTF!? it's working now. launched the arma3.exe in the directory and I can play now...but it's crashing when I launch it from my steam library, haha xD
It runs ok on my rig, compared to Arma 2 Vanilla or a gazillion mods where i get dips to 19 FPS on most maps, this Alpha delivers performance-wise.
auto-detect sets most things to High/V.High,didn't change much there exept disabling PP
Playble FPS and still looking good but i didn't really explore the Island that much,no idea how CQC in larger Towns will be.Tweaking the seetings a bit may grant a better overall performance, even on this old POS Phenom 1
you should not be having trouble playing with that 470 gtx something is wrong... the game scales well and there are a fair amount of reports now of what rocket said, that if you can play arma 2 you can play arma 3... seems to be true from what im reading..
Do the normal arma tweaks but shit if your 470 has an issue what is it? corruption? frames in general? there should be plenty of gpu room its cpu dependant again..
i have an i7 with 6gb of ram and Ati Radeon HD5450 512mb
will this run ok for me do you guys think ?
i wish there was some way of testing it
if full game/alpha on steam is a refundable item then your problem is solved.. Ive not been able to find out yet though or look to be honest about that one.
Where are people getting their single mission files from?

Wow, way better than I expected then.
I guess ArmA's usual "floating" mouse controls have been tuned up as well, right? I read that removing any kind of negative acceleration was one of their #1 priorities.
It's like ARMA2 though, in one location (smaller map/location) it runs fluidly, but on a larger more sparse one it started to chug so I had to tone it down a bit
The mouse felt great to me, no complaints there
You dont need no more than 1600 mtrs view distance, I dont on arma2 nor dayz so nobody should unless they are airbourne and want to strafe targets long distance, even then the reticles lock on even if u dont see the land mass well enough.
Im reading people with i5's and i7's with I can run it ultra full doofus settings with view distance maxed out!!! at 30-50 frames ... that probably really means 35 frames most the time in nub terms, and full view distance settings of 400000000000 is rediculous
tone it down turn off PP, use a different method for AA if you really need it and are a bit anal at 1920 res. and enjoy.. its the old bench test mentality again isnt it and its only alpha lol

Amusing I bet there is a ton of "copies may degrade" msgs flying all over place
I love how the enemy just falls like a sack of meat when you shoot them, no more animated garbage when they die... I can feel that I'm going to have a long lasting relationship with this game
I saw ragdoll phys though right when shot dead on steep hill side they roll down all over place
sack of shit is how it should be I guess, and regarding the tone it down part it was not really meant at you but with you regarding others that get god awful performance.
Is there a key to change the fire mode? No more burst or full auto mode?
The change gunner firing mode key, ctrl f or something seems to do it.
Anyone else noticed that the FXAA in this seems really good? As in it seems more like SMAA or at least has sharpening. SMAA actually blurs the image. Usually I find its the opposite in game... maybe they are mislabelled?
