Its amazing how nicely this game responds to tweaking... Usually in PC games, its same do you use low or ultra, same result in FPS Im now running pretty much steady 60fps with mixed Very high / High @ 2560x1440 + FXAA ultra. Looks also amazing still, cant really tell difference compared to maximum settings.
Try to join 40+ ppl Wasteland server, it will go down to low 20's.
was playing on some server I frequented in arma2 and the admin mentioned that yes the arma3 seems to have the same issues arma2 initially had with overly active AI amounts etc.. still the mission ran fine but defo heli's etc of the sorts are also in need of tweaking.
looking forward to more hardware over time as well worth the 20 notes for sure.
p.s and all these ports? lol wasteland for jesus christs sake, its a big busy mod as it is at times that and it moments its been thrown into the editor of arma3 alpha
I can only imagine what shambolic issues it might have :Z
So I've been using Dslyecxi's keybindings guide to reconfigure my controls, and I've been also adding some bindings of my own. However, I noticed that keys from "1" to "0" seem to be reserved and unbindable to any actions. Is there a well-known reason for this? I press them while in-game and there's apparently no actions.
All I'm seeing so far about this game is giving me a raging boner like I've never seen before but with no monies to buy it...
And why does it give you a boner ?
Because BF3 is crap, that's why!
Dunno... open world, great GFX, they seem to finally have gotten the voices right (not so robotic as in previous games), lot's of stuff to do, user generated content, etc.

Tested the 3dm version, runs decent with auto-detect (never went below 40 FPS on the infantry showcase). I can only hope to get it before they get to the price-raise.

I'm getting massive frame drops when I play online. I assume everyone else is too?
I haven't played online but I've seen a lot of people on the Steam forums saying they get much worse FPS online. If the multiplayer works like ArmA 2, the bad performance is probably due to people hosting without dedicated servers.

yes one can do whatever they like with missions in the editor and all is well frames wise, its when you go mp that problems happen, but thats same as before with other arma games, it will get fixed up to a certain point that is acceptable im sure, as usual... Its streaming/netcode and all that which is probably at fault. As arma just uses disk based and not into ram data pulling.
If it was not that way btw, we would all have to have 100gb of ram on our pc's again its the way and how the game is made.
Just dont knock yourself out unless you are on i5 or another dual core. its teh best bet right now and will be later as well I guess, as the client is 32bit and its always and they said wont change being the way it is regarding cores. unless they do something drastic but that depends on the engine right to me its a glorified arma/arma2 engine nothing from scratch I seem to believe right now anyway.
still if its good for you in editor with whatever u like to play and throw at it, should be ok in future for mp, with a nice dedicated server.. lack of those is another issue right now with alpha..
