Yeah, they dress up in black and dye their hair black and paint their nails black and run around whining about how much their souls hurt and how lamentable their existences are and how they are constantly depressed. Yeah i'm sure it's SOOOO tough being some upper middle class fag who goes through more trends than Paris Hilton goes through cocks, just to give their boring lives meaning. Oh, poor you!!! You have SOOO hard! All the lower class people who can barely afford to eat have nothing on you! I dislike new rap music but some old school stuff is good. It actually has some worth while content rather than the basic "im a gangsta yo. check out my flow. wickky wickky wack. my homies is out back" nonsensical BS.

Well, I'd consider myself from the ghetto...considering where I grew up and how I grew up. I have always loved Metal and yeah i guess I kinda dress the part, more metal-thug tho - black bandana, long black dreadlocks, black army boots, black jeans and usually a band shirt (usual gear - not clubbing clothes or something). I love grunge, metal, death metal, black metal etc
But, I can also identify with alot of the shit that the old school rappers have had to deal with and what they talk about, hence the reason i like SOME rap...most of the new rap is so fuckin stupid, and meaningless. Biggie had something to say, Tupac had something to say, Big Daddy Kane, NWA, Easy E, Bone Thugs etc...now that is rap...all these mainstream artists suck. Lets us Ja Rule as an example - grew up in a middle class jehovah's witness house, bible stomper. Yet he talks about gang banging and selling crack when he was really selling bibles. That shit pisses me off and 90% of today's artist's are fuckin poser's. 50 Cent is the realest rapper to come yet in ages and he has even gone commerical. His undeerground shit before he got shot in the face (that caused the lip) and then like the underground shit he came out with a year before anyone knew him, he was tough - same with banks and yayo. Young Buck is a grimey nigga tho, i like his shit - Sniper is a wicked track.
Anyway, rap to me, just like the new school metal, has gone to shit and we have all these suburb kids think they are hard because they've heard others talk about serious shit...personally, it offends me when ppl talk about stuff they havent done. I dont really want to incriminate myself so i wont list any reasons why i can relate to hc rap, but I can.
And I do agree with u when u say that "metal" ppl are fuckin posers and usually well off kids who cant relate to shit...but at the same time, Gen X metal (and rap) actually had something to say and still to this day, is considered, by me, to be the one of the best music revolutions to date. Whether u were a grunge rocker or head banger, or rapper, the music was tough. It was ppl finally gettin fed up with all the rules and shit that goes on and they tried to bring it into the limelight. Whether it be NWA's Fuck The Police or Pantera's Fucking Hostile, they were one in the same as this when a time ppl were outraged at the system and were attempting to rebel against it. Rise Against the Machine comes to mind - pure politically driven metal (some say rap/metal - i dont) band that actually stood for something.
Well, sadly today, there arent any pure metal, rap, rock bands around. Ppl in it for the music. Again, Good Charolette comes to mind - they purposely write songs about suicide to sell to those fucked up kids in highschool. They preach rebellion and antiestablishment, yet they are backed by a big fuckin label. Papa Roach also comes to mind - guy talks about broken homes and dealing with suicidal thoughts and shit, yet he came from a very well off white suburban family.
Now let me contrast.
Alice in Chains - A buncha guys who liked to jam, and play music. And it was pure. All emotionally driven and from the heart. They didnt care about the money and the fame, they just wanted to tell their story and if ppl liked it or could identify - if not, fuck urself.
Or B.I.G - Guy was a crack dealer, gang banger. He had the oppurtunity to get away from that, make a good legal living by telling his story threw a new form of music.
What do we have today...Seether which is a complete rip off of Nirvana, Ja Rule who is a wanna be Tupac, Thornly who might as well change his name to Chris Cornell (soundgarden/audio slave singer), Sloan...beatles anyone? and the list goes on....
Anyway, I think its a lil narrow-minded to dislike someone based on how they dress...now, if u find out they dress a certain way because that fag from GC does or something along those lines, then by all means, hate on em. Stereotyping based on clothes is childish to me. I mean, if u saw me on the street, u'd prolly lump me in with the rest of the crowd so to speak. I dress how I dress because I like it ya know? I like the colour black for many reasons, I like jeans, I like my spiked necklaces (dog collars but with HUGE spikes  ) and braclets, I like my chains, I like my long dreads, I wear a bandana to keep my dreads back, and I like wearing boots for some reason. And yes i wear a long ass black trench coat from time to time - with black glasses and yes I have painted my nails black and shit - when going to that type of concert or club mind u, not casually, to much fuckin work..
But then, if im going to a say a rap club, I'll throw on a white T or a Throwback jersey and baggy ass jeans and some Timberlands and break out my gold necklaces and shit. See what im trying to say? Clothes dont make the person or define their musicial tastes.
NOTE: I also listen to Dancehall Reggae (Elephant Man, Alozade, Teflon, Ward 21, Bounty Killa, Beanie Man, Buju Banton, Mr. Vegas, Black Chiney compilations etc etc), trance, acid trance, speedcore and classical orchestra music - if u cant appreciate classical music, u shouldnt listen to rock/metal...cuz thats where it originates.
And I listen to oldies - Jefferson Airplane, The Animals, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, WAR etc
Thats why I dont consider myself a "rocker" or "rapper" or "goth"
