Won't happen. The entire reason for online only is the online store which is supposed to serve as a constant temptation with bucket loads of overpriced items. I haven't seen it, but i bet stuff costs more than it should.

people angry about the current issues getting downvoted, getting their threads deleted, Its like EA owns that place. People even advocating online drm and excited about paying for the dlc's.

You know, with the current underhanded tactics we've seen from companies these days (fake twitter accounts, fake metacritic reviews, etc), I'm more than willing to believe that EA hired a company to employ stooges to take over the subreddit.

I am still on the team which think SC5 is still a quite good game.
But I also expected EA servers failure on launch despite their ridiculous tiny beta stress test.
All this makes me laugh and cry at the same time...

Reddit sucks anyway, it is merely a place for people to regurgitate shit they heard from somewhere else. The voting system makes it worse, ensuring only lies and sensationalist bullshit gets upvoted to the top - because the majority of people are morons.
To be fair; Simcity 5 (And likely 4) wouldn't have even happened without EA's funding.
kickstarter would have been all over that. Unfortunately Maxis only exists in name and is not an independent studio.
For that to have happened Maxis would have had to die and not sold their IP to any companies. Unlikely.
What IP? You don't need to buy IP to kickstart a city building game under a random name. Look at inXile - they wanted to make another planescape torment game but they don't have the rights for IP. That's ok - they have people who made the first game, they know what to do and how to do it. They don't need IP's or publishers to kickstart a game that will contain all that made the first game so good. Just under another name and in another setting.

Nothing like the sims. You dont build a house, or goto work, or deal with a family, or any of the sims gameplay.
The gameplay is amazingly very similar to SC4. just the GUI is 'updated' to be all sims bubbly looking.

How do you see so many servers?
I only see 3 American ones, 1 European (West) and Oceanic. All are available, but when I join I get a time out after a minute or so.
