performance is so incredibly bad. especially in multiplayer. but it was the same for arma 2 so i don't really know what to say. i guess when you use the same core-engine as in ofp 12 years ago it doesn't surprise too much.

well if you looked around you would find possible settings to change in the ini and mod launch params to help u.. same as you said with arma2 but it all got better after patches... Im not sure how anyone can really moan about the performance in even a pre alpha state game. you do know this game is not going to be even out till end of the year or so?
The whole point for us all to buy it as alpha is to enjoy it for what it is right now with the editor and for the main mod makers to get going with the game before release.. for 20 notes and to get alpha, beta, and full retail game at end of it is not bad I think.

Tried the 3dm alpha, game runs smooth in all settings MAX, but i went 4x AA since i felt it a bit better, amazing, compared to Arma 2 its a big improvement, the shooting feels good, the movement is AT LAST something good, definitely will buy when i get my finance sorted out.
Edit: Nice just got turned into a bird while playing online LOL, hackers are having a party here

In ArmA II it used to happen randomly even in offline-mode with the pirated version, typical Fade protection kickin' in

To my surprise though it feels very sluggish somehow compared to Arma2.
Like when you move it feels as if there's a delay or a "smoothing"-effect. I never feel quite in control of my character or my aim. I can't really put my finger on it, it isn't fps-lag, or mouse-lag, it's just like a lack of responsiveness.
My i7 2600K and ti560 might be to blame, I do not know. |
i have Q6600 & 275gtx and it's smoother and WAY more responsive than arma2
the "moving like a boat" effect of flashpoint and arma series is not there anymore
try lower the settings
i noticed textures had a bigger fps impact for me than in a2
and in nvidia control panel set maximum prerendered frames to 1
i don't get why that isn't default always

I've just tried the alpha and I must say, I'm quite impressed. It runs great (as long as I set the -useless- post-processing effects on low and keep the default distance/details), looks incredibly good (far better than Arma 2, especially lighting) and most importantly, the controls are almost perfect (thanks to the new animations and better mouse implementation).
Haven't tested the AI yet, if it's as good as the rest, it will be a blast.

Where I can find all the updated content notes for Arma 3? I switched to development build version and Steam updated my game. I would like to know what was added and/or fixed.

I know that, but still I would like to know what was updated. I don't think that 100MB+ update today was for nothing.

There's been three updates to the dev build so far but I don't know the specifics, this was just updated however and lists some general fixes.
