Anyone who has managed to find a cheaper place to buy it than the shops that are listed on cdkeyprice? The cheapest there is around 37$ which is still a bit much for me.

You have to rollback to 2.0.5. It was a bug, after all.

Starcraft.2.Heart.of.the.Swarm-3DM
 Spoiler: | DO NOT UPDATE TO 2.06 !!
Create an account on battle.net, use it to login when you are in-game then exit the game.
Now try again to login into the game BUT without internet connection! offline as starter edition, and >>
then exit.
extract WOLcache204 folder "cache" into win vista/7/8 "C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net",
win xp "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net" , make >>
sure you have deleted the previous "cache" folder, and replace everything.
WARNING DO NOT DELETE YOUR "offline" file located in this directory.
EXTRACT sc2_keygen keytro, open keycho, press F2 when you see " SKIDROW *** ", then press Esc
EXTRACT the save game and place it here (SEE ATTACHED IMAGE).
when loaded press F10 -> END ->Restart Mission to see the cinematic and start from the beggining |

That's just the 2.0.5 version with instructions for it. A day ago you could just go with the official launcher and do the same.

Can I download the game via the Starcraft 2 client and update it manually to 2.0.5 using the patches on this page: http://www.patches-scrolls.com/starcraft2.php ? Then I only start it offline to prevent from updating itself further on to 2.0.6.

that should work. Just never ever let it access the net, or it will start updating to last version.

But then it has to go online to attach the game to a Battle.net account when starting for the first time. But then again I already see it under "Your game accounts" as a starter edition, meaning that I can outright start the game when disconnected from the net?

Nothing to do with cache files. You must log in online once to generate offline file. Try stopping internet until you reach menu and then start it again and try to log in. If doesn't work update 2.0.6 log in to create offline and then downgrade to 2.0.5

That's what I was thinking. So, the cache files aren't mandatory at all? I'm only interested in HotS campaign. And what about this keygen file? Is it needed?

Cache files are needed for offline play and HOTS campaign. License is needed for guest account or you won't be able to start in offline mode at all.

been trying to downgrade to 2.05 all day, it's not very easy thing to do... or just installing the game offline isn't simple, i downloaded the dvd of heart of the swarm, and the setup won't even start offline, has to be online.. you go online, and start the setup till 10% it gets automatically updated to 2.06 then it proceeds to download the rest of the game.. further 6 gigs or so, i don't think you can install the game offline.. that's the problem, and no easy way to rollback. Would loved to be proven wrong tho, if anyone know a way.

Maybe stupid question, but, is this game (Heart of the Swarm) crackeable? will we get a scene release? because the game already has 2 days and nothing.

1. yes, it is a stupid question (asking if someone can or will crack it is always stupid)
2. to answer it nonetheless, yes, it will be cracked. The game has virtually no protection. Just like WoL was cracked (why it's not yet, who knows, can be a multitude of reasons).
