Also WTF?

Someone needs to make a daily "wtf simcity?" website that details the unending lies from EA and Maxis and create a timeline as this just crumbles and falls apart.

Sounds good.

Edit : Oh my bad, I am so sorry ... I forgot it isn't a good idea to post a positive thing about this game here.

I am really annoyed to have to find another forum to talk about the game rather than the fact you are all upset that this game isn't cracked yet.

And about the modder who did an offline patch : Well done mate, this should become handy if servers fail again in the future.
Also I will not "LOL" at EA like some of you after this, but I will "LOL" at the scene to not have yarrred this game yet if there is no server side emulation to do.

Well, 65 hours in the game for now, and believe it or not I am still enjoying it ... big time.

Nah, I'm still playing it, and enjoying it. Come join us. we got 2 plots left on the region Smile I still put 6+ hours a day into our region over 6 different cities on it.

And i still agree with my first statement, it is good, the overlays, and complexity is still there. Despite the automa clusterfuck.
Gameplay is just as deep, and more so in other areas despite the traffic and road fiasco making it hard to work with it..because If you take this, and SC 4 without NAM mod, its just bad..as without NAM SC4 is a traffic clusterfuck of same proportions, with same worker issues, commercial zone 'WTF'ery' and such.
So yes, I still stand by its as good as SC4 vanilla without any mods.

If anyone wishes to try it, go play SC4 vanilla, with no mods..get over 300k people and see how the traffic and jobs are..its just as broke as it is here you will have traffic jams filling one road with all the others carless, people taking a bus to get off 1 stop later and wait to ride back....so TECHNICALLY they hit that spot on with SC4 launch gameplay Razz
Or am I the only one that remembers this as something you 'dealt with'..before NAM was made as a mod:
 Spoiler:

Is it a good thing? No. but its no worse than Sc4 was..and thats what i was comparing it to was I not? Do i dislike the online? Not really. On the scale of 1-10 for let down intensity, while everyone else is an 11..mines maybe a...2-3? Not worth me bitching about.

I'm sorry cross, how much you want to me hate it, wont make me hate it that much. Think me a fan-boi, think me an idiot, think me a sheeple because I like a game you dont..So be it. What some vengeance hungry guy on a forum thinks of me and my gaming habits,I lose no sleep over Smile

and here is the apologizing..yes..after all this time they managed to barely hit the mark of a 10 year old game, so they're doing perfectly fine, no worries.

This is a daily clusterfuck of lies and deceit that is growing by each passing day and you sit here and defend it like it's your kid sister.

The point is, no one should need to remember anything about a 10 year old game to excuse this giant failure. The entire world knows it except you 2.

Label it as you will...Im not defending the game. it well COULD be the worst game ever made.
Like the gremlin cars of the 70's one of the worst cars made..People liking them doesn't make them great cars, it just means some people like what is considered by most people a bad car Razz
I'm defending my opinion, you cant seem to separate the 2..the game, and my opinion of that game.

Is your point to make sure that I know some guy in korea 1/2 a world away that I don't know thinks I'm a sheeple and lying for it? Eh so be it. I enjoy the game,You saying I like it for "lies and deceitful" reasons, doesn't mean I like it less...and I am sorry that it offends and/or confuses you that I do.
I don't know what else to tell you.

Im not defending the game.

It's not the first time you made the argument about it being on track with simcity 4 10 years ago as an attempt to deflect criticism. You have tried to use that argument to defend the game, you've been trying to defend the game daily, well until the last couple of days when the shit really hit the fan, and I noticed you backed off quite a bit. Hence my point above, it's a clearly different tone from your initial posts, and while you'd hate to admit to me that you're finally seeing the light...

So be it, you was right, I have seen the ways of crossmr, the game sucks..the CEO should be raped and shot for this abomination of a sim game according to general opinion..and since I'm a sheeple, I will accept that as my own opinion, and turn away from enjoying playing it...

Is that better? That I adopt the mass sheep mentality of 'go with what is the majority' and dislike the game?
So you fuss at people for jumping on a bandwagon blindly for liking it..then fuss at me that Im not on the bandwagon of hating it....i'm confused.I'm not sure what you are wanting from me.

I Still defend my opinion of the game, I like it..so I defend it..inst that the way it works? You defend your opinion on things you like??
I still dont know what to tell you..you win? Is that what you want? what...do...you...want...from...me?
to stop liking the game? to say its a shitty game according to the majority of people? to say that you was right in predicting that most people wouldnt like it?
Just tell me what you want me to do for you, so you can stop singling out people that still like it for sniping practice..and get back to hating (hating as in the action, dont go all "OH NO YOU DIDN' CALL ME HATER! on me) get back to hating the game, and less hating the people that play it.

Ill do that, Ill be the sacrificial lamb, I will tuck my tail between my legs and let you hit me with a newspaper...just tell me what it is.
What must I do to quench your anger towards those that confuse and befuddle you on why they refuse to quit playing and grab the pitchforks and torches your trying to hand out.

In case you aren't interested in sifting through the piles of pure bullshit and tripe spilling out from Maxis on a daily basis any longer, let me summarize what was said -

"We didn't think you dollar monkeys would actually have the attention span to play for 15 minutes and realize that the entire simulation doesn't simulate anything important or make sense at all. We fix it, me promise. Unga bunga."

By the way, what's with all the names at Maxis? Ocean? Stone? Who the flying fuck names their kids that? Maybe if they'd stop hiring fucking hippies and start hiring some people not named after geographical features they could start excelling.

well, at least they start to acknowledge the many flaws and shortcomings the engine has. Even if it is in a very PR-ish way Smile

And for the roads, someone in the comments made a good point. Sims should NOT chose a dirt road over a highway/avenue "to safe a couple meters". They should always chose the biggest road first and only use smaller ones, when the big one gets full. Not the other way around.

Well, lets see if they can fix all thats broken. Will take them a couple months for sure Smile By then, it will be on sale hehe.

It's free to join. So look up a few names in your friend-list to find the region more easily.

60 hours into the game and I have to agree with Warlock and Lurker on this one. Despite all it's flaws it still heaps of fun to play. And hell it's addicting. I love the learning curve trying to perfect the next city even more then the first one. It is only in the end that the current screw-ups get really annoying. Rich sims don't use public transport and so the traffic clogging gets worse and worse. I guess i'll put those cities in the fridge for now and wait till they fix those problems.
