Soo much moaning about this game just because it is ea.
Imagine if ea wasn't around and went bankrupt, the gaming world would be soo much worse off in parts.
They get bashed to feck, but some of the tittles they make are very good.

if the game was actually good, maybe. But from what we gathered so far, its broken beyond believe lol. Non existent pathfinding, lots of ai behavior broken to no end etc etc. Its a broken game at its core.
yeah, there really doesn't seem to be anything that isn't fundamentally broken or simple smoke and mirrors.

I must confess that I'm a bit disappointed to see so many people here buying this...
..the business model is simply not worth (and shouldn't be) money spending and shouldn't be supported.

..whats kinda sad, is, that even in an "enlightened" place like here, we still have so many people who willingly buy this products

i look at it like this :
they forced me to download Hots.
all i did, was using a savegame file (unmodified or anything) and it launches the game. I even have to log in, before it starts the game.
Its not my fault, its theirs. Worst case, they block access to hots (as it should be), period.
the first couple missions already convinced me to buy this (once i have money to do so). Its really well done. |
So.. since you seem to judge all the people here spending their money in a way they see fit, let me return the favor: Atleast they have money to spend in ways they like. You on the other hand seem to be broke and can't even spend money on the thing you like (yeah I read you own all the blizzard games etc) but c'mon. Grow up will ya? Don't be mad at the company you seem to walk past every day who made a game you want to play, but can't since you lack the money and because it's not pirated.
I'm pretty confident you will be one of many to download it if they crack it someday... but then you will probably just feel too "enlightened" cauz you did it without spending any money and see it as a "punishment" for their bad release... In the meantime, please go play your pirated SC2 expansion...

What would we miss, Battlefield?
NFS? 
FIFA and NBA <insert year>?
Dragon Age? There are much better RPG's out there.
I'd miss Mass Effect a little, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.
It won't happen since they're quite big but EA ceased to be a company that brings anything relevant to the market years ago (in 2008 more precisely, IMO).

and yeah, please everyone : only judge games you actually bought. Its not nice to judge pirated games or stuff we see and read in reviews etc. No, no !
Oh and maybe i AM end of month broke. Maybe, because i spend like 900€ for new pc parts this month. But even IF i had that money right now, i still wouldn't have bought sim city and i still would bash it for all its broken ass. And i still would have played the yarr! version of the hots campaign and only then decided to buy it.
So, a little bit of advice, don't try to judge someone based on 2-3 posts, adding a bunch of unknowns and hope you'll nail it ...
