Do you have the same problem as this:

I get to the menu and make a profile and so on.. When I start a new game, it loads for a bit then autosaves and the pops back to windows.. If I load my Autosave, it playes the intro (without voice?!) and the freez..

No m8 mine just doesnt boot up at all, i installed the crack went to load it up, black screen then back to desktop. When i go to try it agian it just says that there was a problem trying to load the game then it asks do you want to continue anyway or continue in safe mode. I try safe mode but i still get the same shit?? all drivers are up to date except for my Soundblaster Audigy card, ive tried updating these but when i do the drivers just say that i dont have the right component in my machine which is bullshit.

And wtf is "windowsblind"???

yes, I had the same problem updating my Audigy 2 ZS, but i found a solution on their forums:

1. Download the update (don't use the auto updater).

2. Run the update (note: Get to the the message box, but Do NOT click ok or cancel when the 'Before you proceed...' (title is Information) message box appears.

3. At this point the install has extracted the drivers somewhere on your system.

4. I found mine in C:\Windows\Temp\CRF000 they may be in C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxx\Local Settings\Temp\CRF000 or 001, etc. (where xxxxxx is the user in which you are logged in as).

5. I then did two things (not sure if you have to do both or not...

a. Update your drivers through Windows XP Device Manager.(Reboot...you can cancel what you started in step 2...it wouldn't work anyhow)

b. Run the CTZAPXX.exe in the CRF000\drivers directory and install the WDM drivers (as well as shared files...reboot)

But still, this didn't help start Fable in my case

Something else, i have a Geforce 6800 and the max shadow setting is extremly slow on my PC (XP3200+). Either its a high resolution map or its created with better looking Shader Model 3.0. The Setting one below runs smooth, just to inform you.

Yep, i dont notice any difference with max shadows and the setting below, and i got picky eyes!
Prolly just like its rendering shadows 200m in the distance, not noticeable but very noticeable fps drop.

And NO you dont have to shave every time u change haircut, i just choose 4 different ones without shaving, why shave?
Its a different thing if u got a MUSTASH (so sue me i cant spell) on, then u gotta shave it off cuz if u add a beard it doesnt overwrite the mustash, lol! Very Happy

Damn good game, screw all you agressive people, what the hell, this is the greatest rpg so far, RPG, Role-Playing Game!
Name 1 game before this that has let you have the same ammount of customisation/roleplay. "morrowind", yeah, ok.... so you think being able to attack guards make it roleplay? LoL

Btw, where is the first Tatoo shop? Im just at the first village and i wanna try on my custom tribal dragon tatoos Very Happy

hrm, name 1, sure fallout 2? sure you wernt able to get a tatoo or haircut, instead you could become a pornostar or a drug addic....there is no rpg that beats that 1 =)

but ye i agree. its alot of things that can be done here. also its very enjoyble. wouldnt say the best rpg ever. but its a good game, i thought it was some what better on PC then xbox. not sure why, just the way i feel about it.

Try this:

1. Make a new windows login account and try to start the game with that.
2. Be sure that audio and video Hardware acceleration is max.

After doing this here, it ran good. I just have problems with the voice now.
Windowsblind is a "skin" app for windows.

well, that depends. if you wont do any of the side quest the game will be very very short, im up to like 12 hours now. almost done all the side quest (the good once) and gonna try get enough physic's to pull the sword out of the rock.... but ye the game is that short if you dont do anything cept run for the main story. but you are sure missing alot when you do that.

I've done all quests possible for an evil-aligned player (including some goodie-two-shoes quests) ... to a total of 15 quests (including the werewolf-quests (the werewolves have another name in this game I can't remember)).

Though, saving and protecting shit wasn't my agenda ... so, in that case you're right, I've missed a bunch of quests.

But what's the replay-value here? The main story doesn't change, no matter how you proceed... irregardless if you're good, or evil - in the end, it has no real consequence. Unless ofcourse you regard the public going "Boo!" when you walk around as a consequence.

I wrote previously in this thread that I thought that this was a children's game - then I received a PM where the author told me that I should really try it, because it really was a mature story, where "it wasn't at all like some Disney-movie".

Well, it very much is.

Some questions though:

1. After marrying Lady Grey (yes, I did the simpleton-sidequests involved in the marriage of her, including fighting Thunder, for killing his sister (I thought it was daughter first), is something supposed to happen? Because I went to talk to her on several occasions after, but nothing happened. Also, that guy in the cell, why the hell isn't he executed?

I really hate it when you're implicitly "forced" to make certain decisions (ie.be nice in the towns, or an endless horde of guards will come after you).

2. Is it just me, or is the weapon-arsenal really... REALLY limited?

3. Did they really make an entire new island (the winter island with those screaming creatures) just for one encounter? (the one with the Raze in).

So much of this game (storywise) feels like it's been done in a rush, where the engine seems solid, and really has potential.

Sometimes it feels nearly up to KOTOR-standards, but then the thin plot fails to deliver.
I really like how seasons changed in the forest, and how they've managed to create a mood at times (for instance when you're in a dark forest and get ambushed by those werewolf-thingies).

Music and graphics are perfect for this type of game, but then there is that god-damned "family-value-content", with cheesy morality, bad guys who go: "Well, this is a bad and sinful act" ... and all the "funny" teenage anime-monsters "KAWAIII!!!!" "Oh how cute!" ... that make me so fucking frustrated.

Take away all the cute, forced bullshit-morality, and add a better (preferrably Troika/Black Isle) story, and this game could've been a whole lot better.

Now it's just potential with five layers of cheese on top.

Yeah, the game is extremely short, which was the problem people had with it on Xbox also. Though it is enjoyable while it lasts, I personally feel that shelling out cash for it is not worth it(I did that on Xbox when it was first released). It got traded in pretty quick for credit. Really the only replay value is trying out different char types.

I actually did. The Gothic-series was damn good, and it actually shows what Fable lacks.

The thing though with Gothic vs. Fable is that what Gothic profits in story + immersion, it lacks in engine. The Gothic-engine isn't the best.

But it has a nice story, without all the "tee-hee"-factors.

Problem is, because it is so good, I played Gothic 2 through and through in one sitting (with one rest for sleep) Wink

totally agree with fisk.

too damn short. i played it thru on xbox version very fast.

2nd time thru (well never finnished it), i have done everything possible pretty much accept beating jack. pulling swords, getting all weapons, marrying, divorcing, fucking, getting drunk, all side quest etc etc and i think im at like 15- hours.

on a sidenote: are the new areas woven into the main quest, or is that side quests only. heh is there any new areas even?
