* Allow offline saves as optional.
* Removed city boundary limits, entire region can now be populated.

Bug fixes:

* Fixed city linking - resources can now be correctly bought and sold.
* Fixed erratic population AI - citizens will now live in the same house, work at same job.
* Population figures now accurately represent correct city population.
* Further improvements to road users AI.

Even after so many days, videos and pictures, I still cant get over the minuscule size of these cities!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I agree.

You can still make nice looking little town, but size can be a problem when you have space taken by water or relief.
Anyway you have to think and chose your city specialization early or you will run into space trouble later.

But I don't think city map size increase will just be a matter of "Hey just double/triple the grid size and it is done".
Double the city map size right now and your city will just turn in a mess past 500 000 residents.
We need mass transportation services first (bigger train stations, metro, ...).
And they should balance the workers ratio first as well, having 1000 workers out of 150 000 residents is a joke.

In the mean time, I take tiny map size as a challenge rather than a game stopper issue.

And what was the other problem already ? Ah yes always online DRM ?
I played at work (shuutt Wink ) with my awful mobile 3G connection all the week.
I got some disconnections/connections messages ingame but all went right and I didn't have any problem with savegames or whatever.
But an offline mode would still be welcome if mobile connection isn't available, of course.

But again, honestly, I wouldn't have bought the game if I knew it would be yarred on day one.
And I think I am not the only one.
I didn't care much about multiplayer in a city builder, but now that I have tasted it ... I don't care about playing offline again.

So the only thing that really bothers me, is how much useful enhancements they will bring us as payed DLC ?
I just don't care about cosmetics DLC.
But I am afraid they will mix gameplay enhancement and fashion stuff together. Sad

You get the free game on origin from a popup after you play and exit simcity.
alternatively you can click Origin > Launch Featured Today in the origin client to make it pop up if it doesn't on it's own.

the game is, sadly, broken to its core. The is no patch or dlc or anything, that could fix that. maxis would have to redo the entire game from scratch.
