That first batch of crates gives a red and a green herb which can be mixed to give what looks like a six dosage healing item.
(Or it just heals six pips, I should actually check that, it did a full heal in the initial RE games if I remember correctly - three green ones did the same - and if mixed with a blue it also cured status ailments - mainly poison, I barely remember but I think RE4 used the same but you had sprays in RE5.)

EDIT: Enemies regularly drop stuff too, can be indicated with a red arrow around their corpse.
(But that seems to be mostly ammo - completely random - or a little chess piece which gives skillpoint rewards.)

EDIT: Excellent I quoted and replied to myself (As a EDIT at that.) instead of editing the original post, now I know I'm really tired.

I smashed them all (or those that I've seen anyway). I have only two green herbs. I've played for over half an hour and I still don't have any items to heal myself. Shocked

I'm playing on normal.. I just finished chapter 1 with a completing time of ~1h 10m

In more than 1h of gameplay I only found 2 herbs that I COULDN'T even use, and 1 spray that I could use (and did).

WTF is this? Even RE1 had more healing items?! Confused

You have to put the herbs into your pack before you can use them.

Aye, I figured out this just now. Still doesn't explain why I found so few in the first chapter..

I mean I'm ~15 minutes in chapter 2 and I've already found 2 green and 1 red. Now the frequency is ok. In chapter 1 it was Mind Is Full Of Fuck

Is it a bug or is the first chapter like this?

I find this game surprisingly boring and uninspiring. Completed first chapter with Leon and Chris and uninstalled.
I really tried to get into it... Sad

Well in this game it's handled a bit unique, enemies can regenerate but the player can't. Very Happy
(Without rubbing two colored leafs together on his skin, I've no idea how herbs would work, doesn't seem like you smoke them either though the prologue made it look like they were injected.)

Game is polished have stable frame rate. But it's boring and stupid. To use herbs you need to press 1 and to auto mix them press "H" ? I'm not certain if H. There is button for it.

With frequent check point it is hard to call it survival horror. Oh you die need to repeat boring part of corridors shooter Wink.

Wow, uninstall, its not a game, it reminds me of space ace games, where u had to remember a combination of keys to finish a scene, stupid and boring. It makes me mad, it looks like we have to cut a movie instead of playing a game. Very Happy

HOW TO PLAY ON TUNNGLE
To make it work, you need to install a patch. To get the patch, click the "Don't Panic" button at the top right hand of the Tunngle software. Enter the name of the game in the search bar and scroll down for instructions on how to connect/play with others. There will be a link to the multiplayer fix.

After installing that, add Resident Evil 6 to your steam library software and launch the game from within Steam. Make sure you're logged into a Resident Evil 6 channel within Tunngle, and then you should be able to find parties in-game.

Finished Leon's campaign in 5 hours, 56 minutes. I'd give it a 6/10.

I only liked two sequences, the underwater one and driving through the foggy city with zombies all around the jeep.

I've played the first two Chris chapters and as bad as they were the QTEs weren't too many. So I don't get the QTE hate this game got.

Maybe it's some other character's chapters that have lots of QTEs?

Game is very heavy on quick time events this is most annoying. Story quality is retarded. Game play is slightly worst then RE5. FOW is bad and while aiming FOW is getting much worst. Controls on mouse and keyboard are bad too.

you can turn off QTE, and you can adjust FOV as well.

How do you turn off QTE and adjust FOV?

God...Chris' campaign...tries so hard to be Gears of War, but falls flat.

Gears of War is not a brilliant game, the whole series is overrated(much like Halo) and is worshipped by teens and college frathouse douchebags(much like Halo), but, at least it's a satisfying pew pew gorefest.

Resident Evil 6 tries so hard to be a GeoW clone but has none of what makes GeoW a somewhat enjoyable shooter.

Next RE game should be more like Resident Evil 4, and actually attempt to create a tense atmosphere without any of this Michael Bay crap that is so out of place.
