Hello Folks!
I'm new here Very Happy
And i've got a problem with my Leadtek A 6600 GT TDH...
In every other game, i've got no problem with the temperatur of the card! (e.g. GTA:SA, NFSU2 etc etc)
But now in Fable, the game freezes every bout 5-10 minutes and i have to reboot my whole system.
After some research, i found out that my card has got a core temperatur of about 68-72 °C!

I dunno if thats an error of the game itself, cuz 1. every other game runs fine, 2. i play with standart settings in fable, 3. i have the original fan from leadtek on and runs it at 500/900mhz. the default frequenzes.

so what i would like to know, if someoe has the same problems as me or can even give me an explonation for that.

i am using leadtek 77.77, newest winfox version and my tower is open.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english

Mmm your card should be able to handle up to 120-150 so I dont think its the card causing the crash. I would suggest you look at your CPU/SYS temps, check them out and let us know-

Thanks for this tip, but replacing the 6600gt with an gf4 ti 4200 agp8x with the nvidia driver solved the problem? I have played about 1 hour so far, and no crach nor freeze.

So it HAS to do something with the gfx card and/or heat and/or power.
But i've got 550W power supply von LC-POWER. And like i said, any other program is running fine.

So, maybe fable has a problem with 6600gt? Its not in the supported list either. But i dont understand why this game shouldnt be able to be running with the 6600gt...

The 6600 is putting lots more heat into the system, thus the other devices are getting hotter. Trust me, check your CPU temps Razz.

well, software-wise you can only underclock the cpu. but the differences between those temperatures is not that big.
putting a new power supply with bigger fan, a new cpu fan or more fans @ all and opening the system can make the cpu and the pc cooler

You can use programs that issue the HLT command to your CPU to reduce temperatures. I'd recommend RMClock. http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml

This game is the only 1 it happens to.. I play WOW, CS:S BF2 no probs at all but this and Lego Star wars cause major problems...

This is being reported all over actually. I am working on one issue otherwise I would pop a few emails to the Fable guys to find out. But a proven point, some games use certain features of cards and if its trully hashing every single bit of your card, the fact is that could lead to a slight heat problem. Talked to my brother who has a good machine and he is having the same problem with is ATI. a raise of 5 degrees on his card after about 7 minutes.

It helps having PC's near a cool source, and not against radiators, any other heat sources.

Invest in a back casing fan (and front and side if your flush), have the back blowing out to remove the heat from CPU and GPU. Front out and side In.

Thats a nice airflow right there Smile

My temps rise by at least 5 degrees playing it and for some reason when I play the game my HD makes a high pitch noise, like it's barely able to pump out the graphics, other then that it plays fine Very Happy

My CPU idle temp is 44c Very Happy

But, when I play the game my HD sounds like it's about to bust free from my case and spin across the room.

There's always like 30 degrees celsius in my room, so my cpu / system temp wont go lower than 35..
But when I keep my window open and turn all fans at full speed, then it drops to ~25..

I hate you.
