with help from elizabeth ( when you're low on health she offers you a medkit ), and teh regenerating shield ability that you get in the beginning of the game. ( all can be upgradable, shield, life, salts )

^^ and what ixi said Smile

it does make the game slightly harder by not having medkits and salts... but they are easy to find either way, by using tear or not.
as for the 2 weapons limit....don't really care....i wouldn't have cared even if it had 1 or no weapons at all. Laughing ... only vigors ... water in one hand, electricity in the other, boom, sparks and shiny colors lol wut

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. Reaction

Played for about 1 hour, can't believe how amazing the game looks and the atmosphere.

Jawdroping just like Bioshock on the first run. Shocked

i didn't realy like the game during the first 1 or 2 hours but after that it went from "okayish" to "very good".Very good storytelling with all dem twists and goofy moments,wow.
Would have been GOTY if it was a real PC game Cool Face

Just finished it and I really liked it, felt very much on par with the first one.
I am however a bit disappointed that I managed to figure out the ending (well, not detailed but the jist of it) before finishing it because I was hoping for another "twist" as in Bioshock.
But overall, this was a very pleasant gaming experience and I'll probably revisit Colombia in the near future again. Very Happy

Wait...What? Then how do we heal?

Still medkits, but you can't "collect" them like we used to do in the previous games Smile

edit:
Most likely a repost, but these are always useful!

i've just finished it and what can i say.. the ending just pushed my personal score for this game through the roof..Although i must say the game is not without certain shortcomings Cool
Well,, the story in general +the ending lol

i'd say it was in the best tradition of planescape torment and it would made a near perfect david lynch like movie Laughing

PS Btw does our present(a bird or a cage pendant) to Elizabeth have any bearing on the ending? Just curious..

To the people who've finished this game, roughly how long did it take you? I'm curious to know what the average completion time is. Considering how some have finished already, I'm guessing maybe 10 hours?

Some more alternative vs "normal" PP

Difference is so massive, how does one still play on "normal" Laughing

You probably don't understand... the game was designed to look that way.
Quote:
Postprocessing – Normal post processing shows all the scenes in the game the way its developers intended. “Alternate” uses a different depth-of-field effect.

if you turn off DepthOfField in BaseEngine as it was suggested several pages ago it will be even better. A very clear picture + no ridiculous bloom.Anyways its the way i preferred to play it.

PS LOl ive just realized why steam shows me "25 hours". I left it running minimized for a night. Very Happy well, what was left of it anyways

smooth sailing for me here, game looks phenomenal, even tried in the 3D forcing it trough TriDef, it has some real depth and no framedrop... only thing is that the crosshair looks like its closer than the gun , I didnt see if there are options to turn it off, and if they are I can use TriDefs red dot as it...

both bioshock 1 and 2 look best of all games when forcing in 3D mode, altough b2 had stereoscopic mode if I remember corectly, still looks better when runned trough TriDef

anyhow game looks great and cant wait to skyhook some more mofos

Turning off all DepthOfField features does the same effect even if PP is on alternative or the difference is not big. I did that and can't see nothing changing when i switch between normal and alternative in options menu (didn't tried ingame just looked the screen.Usually i can see changes right away in the background image.

Curious about this too... I'm using the 3DM crack with the FLT release now, which should give DLC afaik. But haven't encountered anything yet?

Kinda got rid of the HUD.

Had these values in XGame.ini
[XCore.XScreenManager]
bUseDefaultSafeRect=true
SafeRectX0=0
SafeRectY0=0
SafeRectX1=1920
SafeRectY1=1200
MaxDefaultSafeRectAspectRatio=1

Changed them to this
[XCore.XScreenManager]
bUseDefaultSafeRect=false
SafeRectX0=0
SafeRectY0=0
SafeRectX1=3840
SafeRectY1=2400
MaxDefaultSafeRectAspectRatio=1

Pushes the HUD elements off-screen. Smile
(Though the aiming dot is still there.)

This game has served two things - one, bring me back into excitement of gaming after so long that no game has excited me, and two, probably drive me away from gaming altogether now. How do you go back to shit like Resident Evil or Tomb Raider after something like this? What an amazing accomplishment.

This sums up my thoughts pretty well, for a long time I've not had more than a passing interest in new games, as they just can't bring anything new and interesting to the table that would both provoke the mind and entertain me at the same time.
Now that I've completed infinite on hard, I both love and hate it at the same time, for many of the same reasons.
And now I'm stuck here, week off work, wondering what to do with my time.
All these games I wanted to play, now seems to pale in comparison to what I've just played.
One of the things that really stood out about the game; Girls just want to have fun tune being played on the beach at battleship bay - very thought provoking and it was answered well. Also the other one that I won't spoil by CCR Razz
In many ways a masterpiece, and in many ways a horrible game for the same reasons.

Somehow I managed to mess up my game. I starts up fine, but it won't go to the menu.

I was trying to get rid of the intro videos, and I didn't back up the config files.

Can someone upload the XEngine.ini file, preferably one that wasn't changed Smile

I did the same thing and thought I was screwed, but all you need to do is delete the whole file and run the game, it will re-make it.
