Damn you intkeys! I'm waiting for my key since yesterday 17h00 !! Mad (I know, they are still in their right)

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I really don't get how you people with 680 get bad performance. I have a plain 660 gtx and run this game on all ultra except shadows (high), and even set post processing to alternative and didn't notice any performance drop.

Set shadows to ultra and you will notice a few areas where framerate can drop down to ~30 or somewhere around that. Smile
(By using high you disable the additional DX11 features, some smoothing effect and that contact hardening feature.)

The other issue is that on some systems (Both AMD and Nvidia) there's some stuttering (With a brief drop in framerate.) as content is streamed from and to the game.

(The infinite conflict between hardware and actual performance I guess, if people buy stuff like the 680 or 7970 - with a good CPU as well - why would they lower the visual quality.)

Do you have a error log or anything or is it just "The GPU display driver has stopped and was reset" ("Core AMD/Nvidia driver .dll file name" has caused a error in "core game/program .exe")

Both the recent AMD and Nvidia beta driver should work fine with the game, performance could likely be improved even further but there shouldn't be any stability issues.

Unless it's something with the game, I've not heard anything but I assume there will a few patches to resolve some of the problems people have reported.
(And to support any upcoming DLC no doubt.)

EDIT: As a quick suggestion you could try to lower the settings to min and see if it still occurs so it's not a issue with the GPU being overloaded or what to call it, then if it works you gradually raise them up again one by one until the issue re-occurs.
(Though if it can handle other games fine that does seem a bit unlikely unless it's a conflict between some other program or such, FPS overlays, shader injectors or the like or a driver setting overriding something in the game.)

I'm not the only one with this problem.
I'm on lowest settings with some tweaks in the Engine.ini
It gives AMD driver recovered from crash. (Both 13.1 Beta 7 and 13.2 Beta 2)

In game i play normally with no fps issues (low = 70-90% GPU Usage and medium no less than 95% usage)
Problem just comes out of sudden. While playing normally it just freezes for 5-6 seconds and game throws me to desktop (like if i press alt+tab) I still hear sounds from the game , but i can't go back and after about 10 sec game crashes.

Had similar issue with Far Cry 3, but it was coming after 2-3 hours of gameplay and it was not crashing that often.

Since I have very limited knowledge of game engines, this might be a stoopid question. Is populating the gameworld with clones of clones some kind of strange artistic vision, or is it just a trick to make the game less demanding on HW?

I think it has to do with the game needing to have a lot more characters on screen at once than Bioshock did. You can most likely thank console memory limitation for these clones.

Having many different models with their own unique textures would likely be impossible considering the massive size of the levels and the detail that goes into Elizabeth and all the various buildings and rooms.

In fact, I'm amazed they pulled this off on Xbox 360/PS3 hardware.

If it's the one that tells you to move your saves to a Reloaded folder, then yes that one works with the FLT release. Someone else seems to have uploaded that and gave it that name so that is why I am not sure if it is different or not then the one I know they probably took it from.

seems logical. Sadly it kills the immersion for me a bit, a big shame in a game which is filled to the brim with details.

I don't care how many clones they use in a CoD game for example. In this game however, which is beautifully designed and very detailed, it's very apparent.

It bothered me a little at first - but you get used to it. Also, at a relatively early point in the game - the problem becomes significantly less obvious - but I won't spoil why.

Anyone else having the problem that the game is unplayable?
In fullscreen.
Even the main menu runs with about 5fps but as soon as I switch to windowed or windowed fullscreen it runs as smooth as I expect it to.
Only thing I've found so far is a thread on the offiicial forums where one guy goes "hey, fullscreen is unplayable but windowed works" and the rest of the thread just goes "yup, same for me."

Or is it perhaps caused by the crack I'm using (I think I'm using the 3DM one currently).

Anyway, minor technical gripe.

One other thing is that, apparently I'm the worst gamer that ever existed.
People yap about how easy the game is, even on hard, and I'm here just getting my ass kicked into bankruptcy all the damn time (on hard).

I finished the game last night. I found the combat got a bit lacklustre by about halfway through. The story was interesting, mostly because of the unexpected double twist ending. I really wish they'd stop with the audiolog thing though. Just seems like such a cheap and half-assed way to provide necessary exposition.

consolitis wrote:

The interesting thing about that is that there is no real need for it any more. There are plenty of games that use some sort of FaceGen tech to have player adjustable head morphs, like Skyrim, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, various sports games, etc. With a broad enough set of base meshes you can theoretically come up with a virtually limitless number of morphs. You could conceivably come up with some sort of randomisation script that generates faces based on some set of real life-derived variables, or you could just get some lowly intern to spend a few weeks manually churning them out by hand. Hell, turn to the community and have them do the work for you. Make it a competition where the best ones get a free copy of the game or even just some DLC.

You tried the FLT crack? Just move your Savegames to: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\FLT\ it should work.

Only time i had real problems and went into bankruptcy was at the ending, rest was way to easy.
