Hmm don't know whats up but I cant get past the raffle level, I'm at the place where everyone's singing and you get given a ball but no one is there and you can hear the singing, some bug? WHat ever I do resetting the checkpoint etc nothing is happening Sad

It happened to me too when I edited the bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming value in the .ini, the game basically would fail to load some of the assets and models, leaving the levels empty. Since re-loading the checkpoint didn't do anything, I fixed it by changing the value back to True and then by backtracking to the previous area (which allowed the game to load everything from scratch) only to reach the original one again. I just got to the room where all the preorder DLC is, do you think by using the gear I'm getting an unfair advantage and basically cheating. Surely whatever is there you'll get later on in the game ?.

They are all exclusive so you won't find the gear bonuses anywhere else, those little power-up flasks also mean you can get somewhere around +9 to each "stat" depending on how many more of them you find throughout the game.

Extra money doesn't really change much and the weapon skins are mostly cosmetic though apparently there are two that also offer a damage bonus.
(Though those weapons already kill regular enemies in one or two hits even when they are not upgraded.)

They are the usual pre-order cheats.
You cannot use the dlc commands for different dlc in ini of one you have in legit version.
Trick works with cracked version. On legit version not only it not unlocks, but blocks the unlock of the dlc you own.

I've played for about an hour and there's a lot of stuff I like ... and some stuff that's pretty bad.

- linear as fuck
- far too much bloom
- checkpoints - is this a 1994 console game?
- too much consolitis in places

BUT they at least let you expand your FOV, let you turn off the stupid flashing items for blind idiots (can you tell I hate it when games put huge arrows pointing at what you can pick up?) and the mouse look is pretty solid.

In general, I like it. The checkpoint thing annoys me greatly, however.

This can be improved by enabling DX11 post processing ("alternative post processing"). It doesn't smear the bloom all over the screen like the DX9 version does.

Most of these things can be avoided with correct settings and correct difficulty.
Don't blame the game for something that could had been avoided Smile

And what is that stupid saying about checkpoints, what the fuck does that have to do with that year? Furthermore, it's been like that in virtually every game these days, so why hate on it specifically in this game?

Because almost no game completely replaces the savegame feature OR puts checkpoints so far apart and in such bad spots?

The combination of bloom, god rays and DX9 DOF blur is indeed too much. The blur smears the bloom and god rays all over the backdrops and looks annoying at times. Using alternative post processing makes things look a lot better - if your PC is master race enough to handle it Wink

Actually i have to agree with that + any flat white material should reflect 85-93% of the light. Sure, bloom isnt perfect, it's not exactly how it looks when light bounces of bright areas but it's better than being without it, looking at a bright surface in full sunligt is not a pleasant experience and not exactly good for your eyes (snow is terrible!) i like a good implementation of "bloom" and various other shaders like that and i wouldnt wanna miss it. The problem is that when bloom became popular everyone used it in abundance which made it really hated by alot of people (like the jj abrams lenflares Very Happy ). It became synonymous for the "console derpage".

The way Infinite uses different shaders and godrays is perfectly done imho. It adds to the artstyle and makes the city totally dreamy and pretty.

Finished it and it was so great 9.5/10 Surprised Very Happy
Played the last chapter again and listened to the audio tapes to get an idea of what was going on. The too much shooting while i was playing distracted me from the story. It would have been better if it was less of a shooter ( just for my liking ).

Wonder if there's gonna be a sequel and how will they proceed after this one.

The problem now is....how can you get back to playing other games ? Sad
Why can more games be like this.... i guess is the lack of passion and greatness.

well just finished it.

i think the plot was overall pretty predictable, im sure most people saw the twist (two twists i guess) coming, but i think it was handled (the HOW as well as the pacing and delivery) really well.

as for the ending:

Personally, i did not see the twists coming, guess i was too caught up in the cinematics and waiting for my shield to recharge to notice it. Neutral

Anyway, beyond the somewhat typical plot and at times annoying dialogue, i feel that this is the best attempt at narrating a shooter i have experienced.
But i still prefer not to have a snarky, know-it-all, creepy child as a sidekick, but if the plot calls for it, i guess the Bio-Inf type isn't the worst.

It seems to me like the Elizabeth we got in the final game was very much a shadow of what Levine originally intended (and promised) her to be, if you recall some of the early interviews and demos.

When i copy the Sweet FX files into the game exe directory and then download a preset (http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/261/)..do i then copy the downloaded preset file also just in the game exe directory or do i need to open sweet fx folder and put the preset file in the presets folder..or both ? Smile

Edit:

What the hell, now that i have pasted SweetFX files into the game exe folder the game won't even start..when i click the exe files, nothing happens Scratch Head Confused

I honestly expected the songbird

It's a great game, but it really does feel kinda neutered to be honest... Wonder if it was a time issue, budget issue, or console audience issue.

Still head and shoulders above most games in recent memory, but it wasn't perfect, and felt a bit lacking at times, keeping it from massive greatness.

yeah chiv. Bravo, You really think "console audience" could have been an issue that songbird conenction was not emotional enough ? Laughing

You need to play Enslaved. it is console only game and it is VERY emotional. I even think that Trip from Enslaved is more emotional and maybe even better than Elizabeth.

or Play first Darkness. Emotions are dripping of the screen and it is again -console only. (shame)

ok that second line that i didnt spoiler was a completely different thought... not sure why you think it was relating specifically to the songbird...

and more to the point i dont even know WHY you think that sentence about the game feeling a bit neutered was directed at emotions...
