Where there are no Vigors, Skyhook, gear, and our weapons are limited to revolvers and carbines while massacring Natives men, women and children alike? Yeah a lot of shooting action alright. It would make a terrible DLC. There has to be gameplay too and just not story telling.

Read about the real event:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wounded_Knee_Massacre
To me this does not make a good game.

Probably one of the many Booker's from another parallel universe that failed in succeeding his mission.

Then why would they put him there? I think it is just what it appears to be. The guy in charge of maintaining the lighthouse. Since he is not part of the plan, might as well use him to lead Booker the right way.

Not sure if it was mentioned or if its a special case but thought i'd share that
Deleting the xEngine.ini and starting the game solved all the performance problems for me.
It was unplayable on low, now its flawless on highest.

Are the weapon upgrades just stat based or do you get some visual/sound differences ?.

Just stats, no visuals. Which I was hoping for since it was in Bioshock.

The guy in charge of maintaining the lighthouse could be a person on a regular shift from Columbia. And his/her main job was to not only maintain the place, but keep it from prying eyes and outside people that could reveal a means of visiting Columbia (and we know Comstock was preparing the city and its people of setting, through his heir as well, "flames on the mountains of men", the Sodom below, meaning it was of high importance that they kept the place secure and secluded). And one of the infinite versions of Booker might have somehow figured out this was a type of transportation rocket silo to Columbia and was willing to unveil the location to people that were interested in the lost landmark city, and thus was whacked off by Columbian guards or the people in general responsible of warding the lighthouse.

The guy at the lighthouse is the warden. The note on the door is meant for the warden - and it's sent by Comstock to get the warden to stop Booker.
He's been killed by the Luteces.

Casus is right. The note on the door is for Booker left by the Luteces. We can also see a note on the dead body "Don't disappoint us!" also presumably left by the Luteces. And finally we have another note somewhere in the lighthouse saying "Be prepared. He's on his way. You must stop him. ... C." which is most likely left for the lighthouse warden by Comstock.

i must say, im getting interested in the dlc. MY hope, is that theyre smart, and instead of 'introducing something new' (i dont want to see 'new, powerful enemeies introduced'... i mean, where the fuck were the giant mechanical spiders being ridden elite guards with laser guns when i was busy killing my way through their ranks... what... did comstock think they were an unfair advantage or something )
nah, i want the devs to expand or even add back things that didnt make it into the game.
i agree that the luteces NEED to be a dlc, uncovering their backstory or atleast developing their mystery even further. i also DEFINATELY want a songbird dlc... such an iconic part of the story needs expansion. id also like a new area in the city opened up to make the city seem more expansive. i mean you saw so many floating parts, and the opening of the story, with different areas connecting to others, it really helped give a sense of scale and traversing someting large - but later in the game, the city felt kind of small, and you do revisit areas you were earlier. NOT a complaint, just an observation - id like to explore more of the city is all.
i just hope that the dlc EXPANDS on the mysteries already established in the game, rather than just being new 'cool, but irrelevant' sidestories that happen during the game - that would quite upset me at the wasted opportunity.
please oh please make some story dlc that inserts into the game. that'd be a dream.

yup
i was obviously affected by timeline nosebleeds
still does that mean one of comstock's men was in the chair? if so who killed him?
alternate Booker?
it still has holes

Well, the note says us, as in plural. My guess it would have been the Luteces.

I think you are looking into that small detail way to much. Anyone could have killed him. Doesn't really matter who did though. Not relevant to the major story arc.

Songbird DLC isn't really needed IMO. There isn't much mystery around him/her. They peered into the 'future' at Rapture and saw how the big brothers were made, and used that technology to make a big flying retard.

In one of the vending machine types. There is one for bullets and health (I think that's the $ one). then there is one for vigor upgrades and one for weapon upgrades.

-possible spoilers, dont read below if you aint done.-
no, i dont mean telling you exactly about his history of its creation NECESSARILY, i mean have more with him IN it, perhaps demonstrating more of the relationship between her and the bird. I kept thinking that the bird would be a bigger theme of the game, and i just felt in the end it barely made an appearance, and when it did it was generally impotent. this is supposed to be a thing she both loves and hates, and has an extreme love and protectiveness of her... but it only shows up like 3 times?
so yeah, id just like a dlc that builds on their relationship and makes the songbird more important in the story, rather than its origin.
