I was with a large group of friends yesterday, some of them sort of nerdy like me, some of the never having used a computer for anything other then word processing. Well we were watching a film, and at one point I said "WTF!?" as in the letters, not the words.
Anyway, I got these looks from some of the people who probably wondered what the hell I was going on about, but a few of them looked at me and thought "i agree". It was kinda cool seeing the difference.
Bit of a mistake on my part though.

To be honest I pretty often say "omg", as the letters and not as "Oh my god". The same applies to wtf but being lazy as me it mostly becomes "vtf" (vee instead of double-u)

Ehum, how can it be being lazy to state (double)ve te ef instead of va te fuk or oh em ge instead o mi god? Anyways, saying oh my god just goes on my nerves, saying the letters imo just plain too nerdy.

 it reminds me of that nerd thread when you accused me of sayin 'WTF' I dont.... I never say LOL.... LOL means 'i am laughing out loud' to me anyway. I sometimes say OH MY GOD but hardly ever. i say What the fuck quite a bit though. Also when i read things on here in un-abbreviate them except lol, rofl etc. when i just associate them with laughter. |

LOL.. OMG you guys atually say the letter out loud???? that make no sence whats so ever. to correct this why dont you say the letters in real life then not use any acronyms (I hate my spelling) on forums. Laugh out loud. Smilley face with eyes rolling. It would bring balance to your geekyness.
But what do i know, back in the day i remember LOL as being "lots of love" and strange words like sysop.
Sadly i have never spoke the letters of LOL, i just laugh.

But i think saying oh my god is not really over used.Well maybe by young girls that are "Like OMG" , and "OMG i know" (Said like hilary duff)
I know i say it here and there..hmmmm..now im going to have to moniter my OMG useage. Never really thought about it.

But to the LOL thing, man, i just laugh as lol is a way to convey laughter through text...wouldnt make much sense to actual say "lol" without laughing or even still, saying "lol" while laughing...
U know what I fear, im gunna go to europe or somewhere other than NA and speak how I usually do, with all the slang....and no one is gunna fuckin understand me... |

The funny part is that when someone says "LOL", they don't mean "Laughing out Loud", but more something like "eeh.. ok?" or "is that supposed to be funny".. you know.. some shit like that..
And "OMG" ain't "Oh My God", but more like "WTF" or "Damn", "Fuck" and shit like that..
Sounds wierd, but that's how it is here
