Not it's not, you made a statement that after 2 years a GPU replacement is needed if you want to play games maxed out, i countered that claim with, as example, my 2 cards.

I think what I learned from all of this is that with 2GB buffer of VRAM the switching of textures from system RAM to VRAM is fast enough.

your comparison to yourself is skewed. yes typical person doesn't upgrade his gfx card every 1-2 years, but also typical person doesn't have 2 gfx cards. we are not "typical" here, we like to play latest games on high res, high fps, and we upgrade way more often than typical casual derp.

1080p users can come to this topic even next year with 2GB VRAM, rest who owns higher resolution screen / multimonitor setup can upgrade their cards and go to different topic.
