This one was pretty good, I enjoyed it. The game from 2008 was not my taste, so this one I liked more. Too bad the already simple (yet enjoyable) combat from the trilogy was even more simplified. The water freeze ability was pretty cool.
The game definitely starts as really simple and "meh", but it gets better further along. It won't win any prizes for originality and high quality, but it's a fun ride.
The biggest problem this one has is the lack of evolution. Not much has changed besides a gfx update compared to the trilogy. Some elements were even taken out, to make it more "streamlined" I guess.

I ran into an issue that I got no upgrade point after collecting enough yellow "souls".... Not sure if that's because of the crack or not.

Yes, that same thing happened to me at least once. I've also been having another problem with the upgrades. If I purchase one then die before reaching the next checkpoint, I can't use it - but I also can't repurchase it. (It already shows up in my upgrade menu as if it's already purchased.) I've played the majority of the game without Fire Trail because of this. (And whenever I'm able to purchase the next level upgrade for Fire Trail, wouldn't you know it - I die again before I reach the next checkpoint!)

Just wondering if anyone knows of a workaround?

So I finally got around to playing this, and noticed that the bonus/extra/whatever content is archived the same was as ACII, using a .save file. I found a 1.save, 4.save, and the .ravcpa file on the last page of the [REL] Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands SKIDROW CRACKFIX REPACK topic over @ cs.rin.ru that grants all the bonus stuff, except that the uploader's stats for challenge mode display as they're part of the 1.save file (it's stupid, because in the pics next to the download link the stats aren't showing).

Since the ACII .save files were shared here I thought it would be ok to ask if anyone has a 1.save from PoPTFS that has all three challenge modes unlocked (without stats) AND the ezio+sand wraith+malik skins unlocked, basically a clean unplayed 1.save file? Thanks in advance.

Well, you can just delete the profile from the menu and make your own, all the stuff is till unlocked. Wink

Thanks Maul, that was one of the ideas I was toying with before I posted.. but there doesn't seem to be a delete profile option I can find anywhere @ the game's main menu. Is there something I'm missing?

Hmm, It's been some time since I installed the save files that someone shared on this forum, but I think I remembered wrong when it comes to profiles in this game. See, AC2 uses the save unlock system and has profiles that can be overwritten or deleted and the unlocks stay.

But in this game, I think I just started a new game from the menu and overwrote the saves, while keeping the unlocks, about stats, I don't know, I haven't tried the challenge modes, but I will assume that can just play them and overwrite the stats.

As it turns out I had messed it up using my 4.save (mission progress) in conjunction with the posted 1.save (unlocks), and thus in my game all the upgrades were unlocked and all abilities/powers available from the start! And I didn't ever gain any XP either...So I'm just going to play it as normal, without pasting over the posted 1.save. I might use it later to unlock the bonus challenge mode, eh.. thanks anyway for looking into it though, looks like there's no good way to unlock all the goodies from the start and still have a "clean" save file for an initial playthrough

a little tinkering and I got it working. Turns out you can reset the stats by starting a new game after placing the 1.save file in the "11" folder, which is like loading up the game for the first time afterwards, except the bonus content/unlocks remain saved in the 1.save file.

For any that are interested I created a little installer for the file w/ inno setup (since the 1.save is placed in a weird location). Since it seems this file has been shared in this discussion I thought it would be ok to post my installer of it here: MediaFire

For anyone not comfortable with an .exe installer and wants to place the file manually, here's the 1.save file directly: MediaFire

Simply install PoP:TFS, run my installer, and start the game up!

EDIT: Uploaded the correct installer. All good now Wink

It was anonymous and overall too easy, but not a complete failure in my opinion. Gameplay wise it was capable of providing me more fun than the hippie version of PoP from 2008 Wink

@Mortibus Prince of Persia 3D was crap :\ Controls were really awkward. There was a later Dreamcast version where they fixed most of the problems, but it wasn't released on PC.

Well, given what passes for DLC these days, the unlocker will give you some.. the extra two challenge modes were amusing (for the 12 minutes it took to complete them!) And if you feel like slogging through the game again you can choose two alternate skins as well. Should only take you 2.5 hrs, right?

Amazing.

Gaf makes the discovery, journos read it there and then make articles about it without crediting gaf.

Ew.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things donโ€™t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things donโ€™t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
