I don't know how this one slipped me by, as I love Sci Fi, however "Sunshine" - by Danny Boyle, somehow did.

http://www.imdb.co.uk/title/tt0448134/

I plan to watch it later this week.

What about you guys? Anything that slipped you by and on your short term roadmap?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Na! I've not watched those movies.

Last time I downloaded but my HDD went kaput.

Planning to watch top 50-100 IMDB movies this summer, will cover these as well.

Never heard that movie called Arabian Lawrence before, sounds weird.

For me, it's the really old classics:
Gone with the Wind
Casablanca
and many Hitchcocks (Vertigo, North by Northwest, The Lady Vanishes, To Catch a Thief, ...).

Not such a 'Kitchcock' fan Pffchh

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

TONS of hidden italian gems from the 70s, but especially Giulio Questi's "Arcana", which has been sitting on my hard drive accumulating e-dust since 2009. The funny thing is that I've been looking for the uncut version for *ages*, then I finally found it and... well, I have yet to watch it Very Happy

Also, Derek Jarman's "Blue" and Zulawski's "The Devil".

Aye, this one too. I love Kubrick (and Full Metal Jacket is one of my favorite movies of all times), but I can't bring myself to watch that one.

It's very good (naturally Wink ), even though it's very long too. But it never gets boring really. The cinematography is unique; Kubrick invented a special camera that removes the depth from the image so that they look like paintings. Combined with the use of only natural light, the effect is really stunning at times.

It's an adventure story about a nobody's rise to power while fighting in several wars on different sides, spying for several nations at once, fucking and gambling around, and, ultimately, his fall to poverty again. If you like stuff like the Hornblower series or other war movies of that era, you'll enjoy it. It's a well made era piece with attention to detail, so it still holds up. The kind of movie for which Spielberg would give both nuts to be able to make but Kubrick played in a whole different league.
