Dark Souls, 30 hours in and still many areas to explore. I'm glad that I gave this game a second chance, I'm enjoying it a lot despite some few design decision that could have been more polished.

How is the game working? Has it been patched to remove the retarded limitations and lack of optimization?

Yep, everything's fine now. With the DSfix you can remove both the framerate cap and the hideous default internal rendering, add SMAA/SSAO, customize the depth of field, HUD etc.
http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?tag=dsfix
If you want to use mouse controls, you need this: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~petska/ (pretty easy to configure).
edit: these are all community fixes, the developers couldn't care less about the post-launch support (I presume they just realized that the game didn't need any further patching )

@ Jonas
yeah. The Revision 2013 was impressive..
Fairlight´s winner demo also was awesome. realtime Ray tracing and all...
also worth mentioning is Exoframe from Cocoon (PC Demo, 2. Place)
And PandaCube PC-07´s "Breached" also a very nice one..dx11..
all quite impressive and, well, some Game Devs could learn from that, hehe...
Pics:
FLT, Pandacube, Cocoon.....

I played it about a year ago (at most, but it wasn't that much) and I was still impressed by how cool it looks. It's quite crappy graphics-wise on a technical level, but they used what they had in a great way. I enjoyed that game, but the way the AI works in it is absolutely stupid.

It doesn't really, but it makes the game better. That's how I finished it.
