I got bored around lvl8-ish. It just stinks of uninspired design. As far as I could see, it is basically DnDO with better graphics and the most literally 'streamlined' character progression imaginable.

So the question is, by lvl 8 have we seen the meat of the game or not?

Can't help it when a game feels so mediocre that it cannot convince me to continue. The only thing that might keep this going a little while is the Foundry, as they had 3 games now to refine the concept (CoX, CO, STO). Neverwinter can be a great setting for player stories, even if the gameplay itself is as bland as it gets.

im glad to see that most humpers GET IT, official forums is just .. i dunno full of massive derping
"hurr durr im not enchanting my stuffs til endlevel! theres nothing wrong with prices you should just wait til endlevel like me cause im smart!"
and hence, we who actually enchant our gear despite these insane costs get the honor to carry said retards through every dungeon
im doing like 2-3 times the dmg my teammates do and the fights drag out for like 10 minutes >_<
enchanting is very fuckin important, 1 good gem can give you more stats than 2 pieces of good gear

Gave it another go with a thief, and it was much better in terms of combat, but then it became piss easy. L15 and yet to die once. Potions just recover too fast and regular enemies die in a flash. The shield tank guy was a chore, the thief is a cakewalk.

This is essentially exactly what happened with me, lmao.

DDO is a lot, I mean a fucking lot better in gameplay. It's a shame to call this game neverwinter. Such linear progression for braindead people ... DnD, what have you become?

I agree, DDO is miles better than Neverwinter MMO, and is one that I'd choose if I ever wanted to play a MMO game like this.

Funny, I initially did the same thing Kripp did. Went with high int for my wizard, didn't really pay attention to charisma too much, but kept it above stats like str/dex. Made sense in my head.. charisma is for sorcerers, int for wizards.. I assumed they probably wouldn't work with low int chars not being able to use certain level spells like in DnD, but I did not expect int just being a % dmg bonus, while charisma being a 1% crit bonus per point.
Luckily I was only lvl 6 when I figured I might as well reroll and fix that.

Not sure I agree with that, and definitely not for this game either.
- You get basic companions at lvl 16 and others that you can buy with Zen/AD later when you save up enough.
- You get a mount at lvl20 (well, you can buy one or use rental)
- The game does get alot more complex at higher levels.
- You don't have access to any paragon passives or heroic passives.
- At level 8, you haven't even scratched the surface of the skills.
I do agree, the gameplay is a bit rinse and repeat but leveling is quick and there are a lot of map areas. (lvl8 I don't even think you've gotten out of the first map yet)
It's not that I like the game itself is revolutionary, but with a good group it's really fun if the classes are mixed. (tank, GWF, cleric, Wiz, and rogue)
My biggest gripe with the game is the Zen cost. Buying Zen is ridiculously expensive and it would be nice to have some to buy extra slots (you only get 2), extra pets/mounts/companions/etc..
- you can convert AD to Zen, but the ratio right now is also crazy high. (it's like 420 AD for 1 zen)

It could be fixed by putting in a simple XP ceiling - based on playtime or something similar. As in, even if the player would get a zillion XP from mobs - it would be reduced if it only took 2 minutes. DDO handles this aspect in a much smarter way - and all it takes is tweaking how XP is being handed out in Foundry missions. That, or they would need a more thorough greenlighting process for player-made stuff.
But we're talking about Cryptic and a game that's the very definition of F2P mediocrity.

considering the game is officially still in beta.. could you please stop the whining, open a report ticket/bug report/exploit report and tell the staff from cryptic about this issue (they probably know, but each additional voice helps) so they can fix this ?
People keep bitching about broken stuff in betas is just insulting to anyone with half a brain rofl.
edit : and checking the forums would also reveal, that those kinda maps are banned and people who keep reuploading them will get punished for doing so.
