Totally, I"m getting tired of all this MP whining about a SP game

But wouldn't playing with a couple of friends increase the actual playtime (+ wait time) 3fold ? I mean i know that's the issue with all TBS games in multiplayer, but god damn it, it'd get really boring, really fast.

For me personally I really wouldn't be that upset if MP disappeared - except for the fact its more or less always been there and just shafting a feature like that is unacceptable.
And although it really wouldn't affect me, it would affect a bunch of other players and that would really hurt so yeah no.
So the BUT IT DOESN'T AFFECT ME LALALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU argument is not something I agree with.

You have not experienced the full potential of the civilization series unless you play a couple of good multiplayer games. It's terrible to setup and you need a lot of patience, but this is where the game concept really shines.
Especially with civ4 and pitboss, this was tons of fun, and you cannot compare the single player AI experience with playing against skilled human players, its a totally different league.

I think Civ 5 has simultaneous turns and an optional time limit... I never intend to play it in MP, but I guess it might be entertaining for some.
