OK so... For some reason I can't connect to efnet, gamesurge or nullusnet. any ideas? I recently did a fresh reinstall (but it was working after this, it just stopped a few hours ago!) it just times out for all of them! Getting rather frustrating so any help would be much appreciated!

i can't figure it out I uninstalled mIRC then reinstalled it, same problem... so I'm guessing it's firewall or router... I keep xp firewall off, and I always have zonealarms set to low (off practically)... so it shouldn't be that... and my router? not sure how it would affect just connecting to irc! arg. fuck my computer!

Did you try connect to irc.efnet.pl or other servers ?

Maybe your domain has a k-line there ? I've had this same problem on my old DSL my whole domain was banned ...

You're connected directly to Internet or via LAN ?

First try to turn off whole security (like Firewall / XP FIrewall) ...

If this failed and you're in LAN there only chance to get it worked is to talk with your admin or try to play with httptunnel
