? its pretty much each class its own items. Like 85% of all barbs have the IK armor. Because there simply is no alternative, without gimping yourself.
Thats why i HATE the itemization on d3. Forcing stats on items so people have virtually no choice.
As a Barb, i HAVE to get items that have tons of str and vita , with additional All res, crit chance, crit damage. Having 1 stat on any given item is easy. But you won't even get through hell. So you are forced to have all these 5 stats on as many items as possible (str/vita on any item and CC/CD where applicable). This basically ruins everything. Which is sad, because the gameplay itself is fun (i love mowing down enemies with my 145k DPS Barb  It has a visual and audio feedback, that is simply missing in any oher hack n slash. But i have zero "omg loot" left anymore. Basically its just farming rares so i can salvage them and then craft some new gloves/bracers/shoulders with slightly better stats then i already have, to get a couple more DPS or more life.
Really sad

Mechanics of D3 is already amazing but yeah, since the release the itemization is really bad. No way to alter your damage except critical chc/dmg and ATS(And main stat ofc). They should seriously work on this. Critical/ATS builds should stay as they are, because tweaking the system from 0 would make people bitch about their chars they invested a year or so.
Besides, I'm beginning to think that I'm the only one that is bothered with elemental damage. There is no elemental effect in this game. Seriously, this is a h&s, every major aRPG's have elemental effects. But not D3. And ofc elemental multiplier. A mage should always deal elemental damage and tweak it via ONLY INT(And other stats on other items). Dex should provide critical hit damage, as well as dodge chance. STR should only increase physical damage(Armor w/ physc dmg is ok though).
Pfft. I really like to play this, if this was a bad game, and I mean IT IS NOT, I wouldn't even be bothering looking at its faults. But the core gameplay mechanics are top notch. But as well as the design goes... It's a great example of lazyness.
And BTW modding is a great lost! Think about playing Diablo 2 on this engine with modder made stat/skill system.

Diablo 2 stats system was just perfect as it was. And no stat increased critical strike (i don't think there was an actual stat called critical strike to begin with. Amazons had a skill called critical strike, which meant you did double damage with x% of your attacks. Other then that, there was only item based "critical" strikes, called deadly strike and some other.
In D2 it was basically :
Str. to wear heavier armor/weapon and increase (slightly) weapon damage (melee and thrown)
Dex. to wear weapons and shields , increase Attack rate and defense rate (to hit, to get hit) and increasing block rate with shields)
Vita and Energy to increase life, stamina and mana.
Only items could provide different "effect" or "trigger" stats, like the mentioned deadly strike, ignore target's defense, Knock back, Open Wounds, Crushing blow etc.
oh damn i miss D2
Not to forget it had a working elemental damage system, with resistances and everything and it worked perfectly fine. With monsters being resistant or immune etc. And suddenly in d3 its not possible anymore ?
The more i think and look what we had in D2 and what they did to D3 ...

hey, i always had the same opinion. It was a couple morons here who twisted my words or fake quoted me.. a lot ... and then people thought i actually wrote them myself ...
I always said, that D3 gameplay was great, but that the itemization/stat system sucked ass.
I never said anything different ...

It's the complete opposite of D3 because PoE's downside is the combat... feels meh and stiff. No flow whatsoever.
I guess we can't have both anymore nowadays.
