Seems there is new saving system in steam.

This game never tries to create a save file, it only reads existing save files

Guess this is the reason scene in holding the release. They need to fix their seam emulators.

From CS.Rin.Ru forum:

Quote:
As I posted earlier you can use brucies dll with the dlc all unlocked. Everything works including saves(highscore, settings, whatever else). I used GreenLuma to download Pinball FX2 cause I figured why not?(you can download it using just steam too, its the full game), renamed the original steam_api.dll to _steam_api.dll as you have to, extracted brucies dll to the folder, edited the .ini to include all the dlc ids, and ran the game by directly running Pinball FX2.exe because GreenLuma wouldn't run it directly even before brucie's api.

Steam still works just fine in game and I had kept greenluma running too. I hope this helps anyone who still has trouble.

EDIT:

Ok guys, I finally got it working! Very Happy

- First copy the game folder from your Steam installation (c:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Pinball FX2) to another location (just in case, I don't wanna mess with my legit Steam account)

- Then decompress the file Pinball FX2_LumaEmu.rar [112.98 KiB] from CS.Rin.Ru to the new folder location. At this point, if I tried to start the game it crashed, so...

- Third step is to copy some files to the game folder from the LumaEmu-1.0.5-Steam006.rar [3.82 MiB] posted on CS.Rin.Ru as well. These files are "msvcp110.dll", "msvcr110.dll" and "VAC2.dll".

And now the game is working perfectly, all 23 tables available without time limit and the scores saved correctly. Laughing

No the game is NOT saving properly with LumaEmu! If you quit some table before you run out of "lifes" it will hang on saving... screen forever. Only way to save properly is using modified steam_api.dll + green luma or legit steam.

It looks like they updated Pinball FX2_LumaEmu.rar so now it doesn't crash and you don't need the other file Navito mentioned. I extracted this file, boot the game and it works perfectly. It's a pretty cool game. What's with the nudging, I'm not a big pinball expert, why can't I nudge the table as many times as I want? Like, is the purpose to make it harder? lol

Also, what's the best AA to use? They got like 6 different options.

Ups, you are right! I didn't even try to quit in the middle of a game, so I did not know about the problem. Well, it's a pinball game, so not having save feature did not bother me.

The new version did not crash when saving? I will try it and see, oh and the best AA to use is always the higher, in this case I think is MSAA x8.

Nope, there isn't a new version of LumaEmu, so the "Save in Progress" screen crash persists.

swebarb wrote:

Are you telling or asking us?

Right now the game is playable 100%, the only problem is if you quit in a middle of a game it hangs on "Save in progress" screen. But if you play your games until the end then there is no problem whatsoever, and your scores are saved correctly.

I download it and... lol Laughing they use the same solution as CS.Rin.Ru, the LumaEmu files. So, no new crack.

After dinner will try if this one crash when exit on a game,

EDIT:
Yeah, same solution so same crash when exiting a game in progress.

Sorry guys, but this new version is using the same LumaEmu that I've been using since the first day, and the same that uses the 3DM version. So, I guess it has the same crash when exiting a game in progress.

Seems no one is going to proper crack this game, anyway I repeat for last time that the game works 100% with LumaEmu, the only problem is if you exit in the middle of the game, but I don't usually do this so no problem for me.

Simple way around the freezing while ending a game while playing to avoid the saving freeze glitch:

...to stop while playing in the middle of a game is to (restart the game) and then before actually starting the game by hitting the ball out...just pause and end game/go back to main menu...it'll go back to the main menu without the saving freeze bug.

Another way to stop the game while playing without the saving freeze glitch is to simply tilt the table while playing..it'll end the game if you tilt the table too much.

Just a simple fix until a real fix comes out...other than that..the game is fine and works great for me...the bug or glitch dosent even bother me as its simple to just pause, restart game and then end game and go back to main menu..takes like 3 seconds to do.

The starwars tables are pretty nice..i wish there were more of the star wars tables and hopefully we'll see more tables....its a good time waster when you need to waste a little time or bored...nice little game.

Anyone with issues starting the game..make sure to run Pinball FX2.exe (as administrator) right click and select (Run As Administrator) on the Pinball FX2.exe icon, or right click on Pinball FX2.exe and select properties, go to Compatibility Tab and you can select to always run as Adminstrator so you do not have to right click, also install vcredist_x86.exe in the (_redist) folder.

Works great with my Windows 8 Pro 64bit
