For comparison a 3DS cartridge holds up <=2GB ( although it can up to 8 ).
So it's like 3+ bigger in size.

What does scanning them alive gain you?
Higher % than when scanning them dead AFAIK
That's the whole point of the scanning mechanic, you lose eg 2 sec for each monster on screen while you are scanning it, while the monster is coming towards you, so you got to be fast! If there are 3-4 enemies then it's really difficult.
The faster you get to 100%, the faster you gain herbs and I think I read also you become more efficient towards attacking that type of enemy.
It's a bit like the photographing technique in BioShock.

Sorry, me and my girlfriend were so eager to buy this at first but when I saw that it does not support co-op play, we decided to pir**te the god*amn thing instead. I am not paying for some 2-bit console port that devs didnt even care to put some effort in. The entire game goes on with a support character and you allow Co-op AFTER finishing the game once? Then where the hell is fun in that?
And dont let me start with your barely stable fact "This game was supposed to beeez single playazzz scary shee*t" if you a that desperate to reject a gameplay, then you may as well go play the thing single player.
Steam forums.. never change

Jesus christ on a stick, there's so much wrong in that post that I ran out of facepalms.
It's not even this guy's fault...after years of bro-op Residerp Evil's couch awesomesauce people can't even remember how a single-player survival horror game looks like. The have the legal right to expect co-op!

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Resident Evil Revelations isn't as good on consoles as it is on the 3DS. It clearly wasn't designed for larger machines, and the somewhat clunky, rudimentary controls indicate that it would need to be rebuilt from the ground up to prove a superior alternative. However, it's still a fine game and still the best Resident Evil game available right now, and if you've not played it already, you truly ought to. If you've already tried it on 3DS, there's not a lot to bring you back, but any other Resident Evil fan would be best served giving it a go.
(7/10)
I think those will be my own impressions about it as well when I finish it based on the first 2h walkthrough [3ds] I've seen + demo I played [PC]

Has anyone who has actually played the originals (RE0, RE1, RE2, RE3, RECV) played this as well, and can agree it's like the origin/classic games?
If so, how? Dodgy camera angles, prerendered backgrounds and doors aside, obviously.
It seems like just because it's slightly less like RE4/5/6 that it's being berated as one of the older games. To me, in the short time I could stand, it felt nothing like those in any way, and I had only just finished RE0 again a few weeks back.
I haven't played this any more than you did but I've read about it and have watched the first couple of hours. So for example:
- tight corridors instead of open spaces
- the ship is mansion like (unlike what you see in the demo). In fact its in fiction designer is George Trevor, the same guy that made the mansion of RE1
- that means locked doors, fetch key quests and backtracking hooray!
- meleeing doesn't really work like in RE4+ it's not easy, you can't depend on it (I couldn't do it once so far)
- enemies do not drop ammo lol
- enemies do not drop gold or shit either, so you see the arcade like parts have been removed
- you upgrade your guns by finding custom parts similarly to eg RE2 instead of buying them with gold, xp, whatever.
- You have to find a weapon bench to do that. There your guns will also be stored. To me the concept reminds me a little of the item boxes of RE1-3.
- you can only store limited ammo unlike every RE game out there?
- When playing RE1-3 you were pressing the action button all the time along moving because maybe there was hidden ammo to pick up. The concept returns expanded in the form of the Genesis scanner. To find much of the ammo you'll have to scan the environment because you can't see it otherwise.
- lots of diaries etc to read.
- the dodging move Jill had in RE3 comes back for the first time in the series
- a certain boss I hear comes back a lot of times like Nemesis in RE3
- the script and acting are definitely RE1-3 bad and NOT super serious like 5, 6. The script has its "holy fucking shit did she really say that? LOOOL!" charm to it.
This is as far as the episodes that take place on the ship are concerned. They are like 80% of the game I think. The other episodes are not very good, maybe even bad.
Regarding puzzles it doesn't look like they brought them back, sorry. It probably does have a few but probably too few and easy.
tl;dr I've played RE1/2/3/REmake/0(haven't finished)/CV/4/5/6/UC(haven't finished)/DC/Survivor and this definitely gives me vibes of RE0-1-2-3-CV.
