Well I was more talking about seeing different era's in the whole roman history.
For instance: Kingdom, republic, empire (and one can split it even more). To me viewing 2000 years as one time, sounds a bit off Smile

Hm, I just checked, and it seems Rome 2 is 242BC to 50AD, which does place it in Spartacus' timespan (~100BC). Somehow I thought the game took place later.

Actually, sounds a bit shallow, but anyway...

its about the same time as spartacus. It will probably starts somewhere in 230bc and end in 460ad or something. That's where basically everything happened anyways.

i.e. i mean of course the third seville war is happening during the whole time frame.

From what I read, it has a 300-400 timespan. Don't know why I thought it was during a later phase of the Roman empire hmm...

I think it quite bad sign for more hardcore TW players. The reason is that SEGA/CA marketers will take this as a sign that more simplistic campaign approach delivers better results aka more sales.

This can also be seen with the new action cam "zoom in" feature for action animation oriented battle. While pretty cool, realistically, more professional games don't have the to focus such details, because You'll be trying to win with least casualties possible and that request a lot of focus on the "big picture"

Rome was my favorite Total War era by far (with Medieval being a close second) - guns and samurai just don't do it for me. Thus, I'm damned excited for the sequel.

Knowing what I know now however, that CA games are loaded with a metric ton of bugs and broken AI pathing upon release, I'm wondering if I can manage to hold out for a few months or so until they get it sorted. It kinda ruins the "first time experience" as it were to force yourself to play through so many nuisances. Doubt I have that kind of willpower though.

Hmm, the collectors edition actually looks pretty nice. There's tons of stuff and some, like the dice, actually useful too.

The first Rome had a zoom in action cam too. Middle click. I always wished it zoomed in more too, so if they have added that feature, I'm all for it.

That Collector's Edition looks awesome actually. You get so many games besides the VIDEO-game, Rome II. If I would have money to spare I would buy that even though I probably won't like the game. Laughing

Wait, they didn't list any in-game exclusives. Is this real? Is there really a collector's edition that only offers out-of-game extras for real enthusiasts? That's...nostalgically awesome! So Much Win

Even if I had that kind of money to throw around ($180 w/shipping), I'm sure I could never bring myself to open it and ruin the mint condition. It does look awesome though! Very Happy

It's less than what I paid for the Old Republic CE. And at least I know I'll be getting a good game along with it this time Very Happy

I'll open it up just for that new, plastified paper smell. I could just sit around sniffing that card game and be happy. So Much Win

The numbers don't decide, the system is a lie. The river running dry, the wings of butterflies.
And you may pour us away like soup. Like we're pretty broken flowers.

And that's just the beginning.. factions DLCs, units, clans and battle packs, campaigns, blood pack v2 incoming as well. Cool Face They'll surely do everything in their power to butcher modding, who would pay for extra stuff when modders can make more interesting contents for free. Unless they intend to charge for mods too, that is. Laughing

That's a certainty, still good to see a CE that only offers physical goodies. Smile

Just noticed that the pre-order for this on Steam is now a lot cheaper than before (at least in the UK)

http://store.steampowered.com/app/214950/

33% Off makes it £29.99, instead of the £44.99 it was before the pre-order discount kicked in.

Well, this one of three upcoming AAA titles for 2013 that I have planned to pre-order for the full price if necessary. The other two being, Watch Dogs and South Park The Stick of Truth.

Assassin's Creed IV on the other hand Laughing
