I am a pc gamer since 1996/7. had 360 as my first console since 2008 I think, because my pc with 8800gt and c2d was getting old. Got new pc 6months ago btw.
They fight with my for years, because 30fps and motion blur is fine for me on the console... but on pc I require stable 59fps with vsync and triple buffering (on most occasions). Some console ports play well with controller. Then I can use graphics like 4xSSAA and cap to 30fps (if cant do stable 60) like console but have awesome sharp graphics but I don't do that much in games.
As experiment I've played half(second half) of Tomb Raider and half of Sleeping dogs 30fps+ controller but on extremely sharp graphics(4xssaa) vs first part of those games which I played 60fps but with 1080p, without ssaa etc.
I would say that difference is HUGE when switching from 60 to 30fps in instant. It is almost unplayable (and that is with controller) but after few minutes, maybe 30minutes, brain gets used to it and it feels and controls great just as all games did on console for 3 years when I was playing only on it and not on pc. It was terrible for me to go and play Gears of war judgement after playing few months only on my new pc, with 60 fps on all games. Time of adjustment was very long. BUT:
I discovered that capping fps to let's say 15 or 20fps and "playing" like that for few minutes and THEN switching to 30fps makes adjusting to 30fps instant or at least much quicker than switching from 60 to 30. after some tieme spent with fps capped at 20, switching to 30 makes it feel really smooth. It feels like switching from 30 to 60 in some way.
I would say, if the game plays well with controller (like Tomb Raider which clearly is controller game) it is worth considering upping the graphics for cost of performance if it can hold steady 30fps limit. The game will play smooth after adjusting to it bu graphics will look much better.
ofc, I got pc to play games 60fps and on high graphics but with above, in mind I am ready for xbox one and ps4 ports
edit: It's kinda like movies. We are all used to very motion blurred 24fps, to this point that 48 fps hobbit felt weird and too fast. Our brains had to process 2x the frames of normal movie... and those frames were filled with motion blur cheating out brain at 24 fps.. But there is not controlling part so it's even easier to adjust to 24/48 and other way around I guess... for being possible to control game 30fps (33ms) are are a must. below that our brain can sense the delay too easily and it's too hard to adjust. 60 fps is ofc much better but the point is - You and many other people are used to 30fps and humpers will not accept it
to be clear - I can see 30vs60fps looking at the screen, without touching the mouse/controller.
edit2: Oh shit... too many "30fps" and "controller" in my post. I am ready to be massively pissed on even tho I am an elite pc player who vsyncs, enable triple buffering and limit to 59 to make responsivenes better (actually I am starting to enjoy it in hump way )

I have no idea what does it takes to be elite pc player in yer book I am pc player for over 16 years god damnit !!! I played incubition, age of empiers, hexen, duke, heretic, blood. Still have dosbox with those. Finisehd Unreal and half life in one or two sittings on release day. owning console for 3 years because I had now work and pc got old and broken is no sin right? Especially that I enjoyed it very much.
Especially that Darkness1 (One of best games ever) and that Red Dead redemption wjich pc players are so butthurt about

Isn't it weird that 30fps felt great for me when I was playing on 360 for 3 years but after I got my new pc again and got back to play 360 game, it felt terrible until I adjusted again (and it takes longer to adjust the longer player... played at 60fps)

Of course it's not weird, 30fps is terrible. We just attune ourselves to it out of necessity on the consoles. You think I was happy playing Condemned 2 and The Darkness at 30fps? Fuck no!

I wasn't keen on Shadows of the Damned, but Enslaved is freakin' awesome, same with Crackdown (which I prefer to the sequel). Consoles have their place and uses, doubting that is just plain stupid, but what is pissing off so many PC gamers is that consoles are the "go to" devices for the majority of gaming these days -- and their limits, as well as the target audience, is what's crippling so much. Not to mention exclusives, so many titles would be so much better on the PC.
You're certainly missing out when it comes to RDR, Condemned 2, Valkyria Chronicles and The Darkness
I can calmly live without 10-15 (or thereabouts) exclusives, for instance. If a game I have great interest in suddenly becomes an exclusive, I shed a few tears in a corner, drink a glass of cold water and forget it has ever existed.
If it's a PC game, I play it. If it isn't, I skip it and move on.

Fortunately I'm lucky that they're very few (RDR is basically the only game that I would really like to try), so in the end I just virtually pat myself on the back, there there ixi.. not a big deal, and that's it.
Also I would need mouse and keyboard to enjoy the game, so buying the console wouldn't fix my problem xD
