I'm planning on upgrading what you can find in my signature primarily so I'm able to run Windows 8 within VMWare Player without freezing/lag issues. The hardware I listed below has some issues I'm not sure if they will be issues or not.



The motherboard only has one 1x PCI-E slot so if I use my XFI card I won't be able to use the primary PCI-E x16 slot for my GPU will this be a problem?

Any other suggestions are welcome thanks.

Your X-FI works in PCI-E 16x slot aswell... Also get Win 8 from piratebay Cool Face. That mobo has total of 5 PCI-E slots.

Are You Serious I wasn't aware that a PCI-E 1x card could use a PCI-E x16 slot so cool.

That mobo actually has the following:

Expansion Slots
PCI Express 2.0 x16
3 (dual x16 or x16, x8, xCool
1 (x4 mode, black)
PCI Express x1
1
PCI Slots
1

Anyone got any build ideas for Intel that are about the same price point? Think I might wait til Haswell comes out...
