Wouldn't there be latency and input-lag issues if the user has to wait for the X-Box One to synch from the server cloud every now and then while gaming?

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/news/a484593/xbox-one-to-monitor-tv-viewing-content-watched-number-of-viewers.html
Quote: | Xbox One will monitor users' content viewing in a number of ways.
Microsoft's next-generation console has applied for a patent offering users Xbox 360-like achievements for watching specific content and adverts, reports Gamesindustry International.
The console's Kinect 2 will also employ DRM measures to prevent more people than the license allows viewing the content at one go, as per another patent filed last year.
If Kinect senses too many people in the room, it will prompt the users to upgrade the license.
"Television viewing tends to be a passive experience for a viewer, without many opportunities for the viewer to engage or have interactive experiences with the presented content," the application for the achievements reads.
"To increase interactive viewing and encourage a user to watch one or more particular items of video content, awards and achievements may be tied to those items of video content."
The company has said that not all the patents they apply for will necessarily be incorporated into Xbox One.
"Microsoft regularly applies for and receives patents as part of its business practice; not all patents applied for or received will be incorporated into a Microsoft product," it told MCV.
However, the trade said that its UK industry sources have confirmed that the DRM system will be implemented on Xbox One.
The company claimed earlier in the week that its policies for the next-generation console were still subject to change before its launch.
Announced this week, Xbox One - described as an all-in-one "ultimate home entertainment system" - will be launched later this year.
While the system won't require an always-on connection, it must be connected to the internet every 24 hours.
A report suggested the firm and publishers will profit from all second-hand sales.
Xbox One will see 15 exclusive games launch in its first year, including Forza Motorsport 5 on day one. |

Ahh, I can see it now... Some game has a CE with a poster of its cast of characters, and when you make the mistake of putting it up where the SpyBox can see it, you can't play games anymore without buying 400 more licenses because it detects the characters' faces.

Well MS patented the tech a while back, a lot of people thought it would be part of the Yankbox One, now "sources" in the "industry" have apparently confirmed that it is, indeed, part of Yankbox One.

people should wait for the official statements, its always like this, something with so many unknowns is announced, and people go fucken crazy like chickens with their head cut off and then when the dust settles everyone is like "oh its not as bad as all the hype made it out to be" This is exactly the reverse of video game hype, a game gets hyped as the next best thing etc and it ends up being shit. This is going to be the same but the other way around. 'They want to control us, monetize us, the console is going to be the worst, blah blah blah' in the end it will do what it needs to do and that is rival the ps4. It will not stray too far away from the ps4 and trust me the ps4 wont stray too far away from the xbox. Way too much speculation flying around its fucken sickening, and the worst part is you guys gobble it up like a whore does jizz.

lol, it will be funny to see how many of you guys end up with an xbox one. I'm still on the fence with my decision on which ones because I would like to see which provides what I need more and wont speculate false rumors and make my decision before all the information is available.
Edit: its the idea that some random news site says "this is how it is" (when its not necessarily like that) and you guys go, fail they failed omg what a fail fail fail. Then it turns out false or nothing like it was claimed.

This isn't going to end up like the Wii U or Dreamcast.

Depends on which calculations are done of course, there are absolutely calculations that can be done on the server, but most of the things that aren't really noticed could've also done with prerendering by the developer already. Feels a little bit like something that comes out of your own pocket.
PC: Yes. Console: No.
