You "make" artefacts by combining any three items of the same QUALITY -- ie; a yellow sword, a yellow sword and a yellow armour.

"technically way better then diablo 3".

yeah, sorry, but no. Diablo 3's flaws are gameplay elements (stats, itemization mainly) but certainly not technical.

Erm, those are included in "technically" since they are part of the whole framework of what makes a game like this so no, you're wrong.

And Diablo's main faults were, to list them again:

- horrible loot system
- linear maps
- way too easy at first - in fact, the whole balance of the game was fucked up

Van Helsing doesn't have randomly generated maps I believe which harms replay value (I forgot to add that one), but the loot is way better and you can at least pick a difficulty mode unlike Diablo III where you have to complete the game on "piss easy" first. Rolling Eyes

No, i am not wrong. Your view what "technically" means, is wrong tho. Very wrong.

Really ... I'm an idiot for even arguing with someone who obviously has a lot of time to waste ergo loves to argue about such futile stuff (while being wrong in the process, well done), but "technically" encompasses far far more than what you seem to think it does (and I'm sure you'll reply with the basic definition off Wikipedia - and then I'll just paste the full definition and prove you wrong).

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing v1.0.05

Known issues:

The multiplayer game still has some issues. Please play it with a character created for the multiplayer only because data loss may occur sometimes.

The cutscene after the Lair Siege might trigger once again even if you have done that quest before patch 1.0.05.

Options are reset in 1.0.05. Sorry for the inconvenience – we had to do it for “greater good”.

Performance:

Sync CPU to GPU is enabled (default).

Affect GUI Resolution (Fullscreen) is enabled (default).

Balance changes:

Second siege slightly weakened

Fixed bugs:

Multiplayer:
It should no longer try to join to a friend, when double clicked on them, and they are not in a game.

There are some quest rewards what you no longer receive, if you have already received once (like ability points, skill points, and skills)

Some performance fixes

You can now use the Enchanter again.

Lagging in Lair Sieges fixed

Fixed "Lair Protected" message at second Lair Siege.

Fixed a random bug at Borislav's Statue

Fixed an issue where the active Objective list disappeared after a Lair Siege.

Fixed the XP requirement of Lady Katarina's 20th level.

Fixed exploit- Lady Katarina does not return automatically if teleport cancelled.

You can no longer split stackable quest items.

Splitting quest item stacks is not possible anymore

New Features

Polish language available (subtitles only, no audio support)

Not sure if been posted.

Code:
Dear players,

I’d like to share some info about the close future content of Van Helsing. You can expect Scenario mod by a FREE DLC pretty soon. It will be playable in single player and in co-op mode as well. It kicks off with two levels featuring 30+ level monsters and you will have a Lair (with merchants, laboratory, etc.) Monsters respawn in the Scenario (if you leave the game to the main menu and go back). Later we will add new levels, interesting end game scripts, boss fights and unique items. Although we will not increase the level cap instead you can collect “heroic deeds” which boost your character.

Also, thank you for being part of our community.

@Sabin1981 a bit off topic but here goes: this game is constantly overheating and Bsoding my ancient 9800gt so i'm thinking of upgrading it...what do you suggest...go ATI or stay Nvidia?

Pick the one that offers you best value for money. Forget extraneous bullshit like DerpX or TressDERP, go for the card that offers the best bang for your buck --

Ludicrous; TITAN/780/(nothing from AMD Cool Face)
High end; 680/7970.
High-Mid end; GTX670 or 7870XT/7950.
Or mid; 580/660ti/7850/7870.
Mid-Low; 560ti448/6950/6970.

It all depends on what you want to spend and how long you want the machine to last before next upgrade.

Isn't the Geforce 7xx series coming out soon? It probably won't initially change prices that much though. If buying now, I'd probably get a 7870 as Sabin says, it seems the best "bang per buck" at the moment.

@Sabin I like "bank for buck" looks like I'm going high mid end...so if you were upgrading would you stay nvidia or go with crackerbear's recommendation ?

@Crackerbear thanks for your input Very Happy I was actually into a gtx670 but I kept reading shit about it....now I dunno if I should bite the bullet and go ati or try nvidia's semi-latest

Bang*, sorry grinhurt

@Crackerbear: The 780 launched a couple days ago iirc, ridiculously expensive though. I still recommend either the 670 (seems to be a fan-favourite at the moment) or an equivalent AMD GPU, 7950 or the 7870 Joker/XT.

@iMaximus

If you want to compare cards, check out Anand's GPU comparison chart. They use real-world gaming tests to compare cards, ie;

Oh wait, I just realised I got my numbers mixed up (goddamn graphics card naming conventions ), I meant the 7870 (preferably the Tahiti LE version) was the best bang per buck, not the 7970. This is of course my own opinion and what I'd be personally willing to spend.

As Sabin said earlier, you can't really go wrong with either, they both even each other out depending on the games you play.

No no, I completely agree with you; the new XT (Tahiti LE) is incredibly powerful *especially* for being a <$200 card. Sits between the 7870 and 7950 in performance, is immensely OCable and is also significantly cheaper than the 7950.
iMaximus wrote:

There's plenty of 670 owners on here, I doubt you'll find many that disagree with your choice Smile The 7950/670 are fairly evenly matched on*most* things, though games like BF3 and SC2 lend a huge performance favouring towards the 670 over the 7950.

Cant play anymore, stopped at second playthrough at half of the game, that second time i choosed range fight with pistols on heoric. Skill tree for ranged is bad, there are always enemies in large numbers, so skills for one target are really useless, only usefull skill that dont drain mana fast and was usefull is (cant remember the name) second skill to the left (pistol skill with explosions). Other skills are draining mana to fast, and on hard and heroic that skills are really useless, so it was back and fourth almost constantly to kill large mobs almost across the whole map. When you get level, you get higher level enemies so there was no feeling like i will now kill them faster, so it was pump up anything you can and game will be with same hardness till the end, and only harder if you don't upgrade items and finding balance with skill points. Well that's heroic Smile. Anyway beautiful game with nice graphics but skill tree was not so good.

670 is my outright recommendation.

@keewee23

That's why I chose melee, it seems to be FAR better for mob-control Very Happy

@Sabin I'll go by your recommendation then Very Happy why won't PCs just go with a lol wut mentality and do a "one card fits all" instead off all this ? Damn looks like I played too much on the derpbox as I actually think my iq got a bit lower
