Well the graphics in the screenshots look much better than the ingame - am I missing something? Maybe I should upgrade my card - ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.

No IT IS the game! It has bugs and the one I experienced is just one of many. What's so hard to understand about that? Why do some people always say the user or the computer is the problem? That's ridiculous and pretty noobish. "No it's not the game it works fine for me so it must be your computer!" Heh I won't discuss this any further. And as long as a computer exceeds the min specs the game has to work. That's a very weak excuse for bugs.
And if you were talking about my statement about the graphics - I wrote that I played with all details at max. |

hoping you aren't comparing prerendered cutscene screenshots to ingame graphics...
anyways. I've played through it several times. Indeed it's the same old formula with a few new additions (shipments from "home cities" etc)... So if you are bored of AoE games don't play it. I for one enjoy them immensely and plan on supporting ensemble and purchasing this game... hopefully it doesn't turn out as wasteful as hl2 was to this date (of course a good mod could come out and change that but...) woot.
plays pretty well on my slow computer, doesn't have the flashy graphics but i don't really care... don't really have the 400+$ to get a vid card thatd last (and only till windows vista might I add..... fucking fuckers and that stupid hdcp thing.)

shit!! i cant even install this shit!!!
i have 5gigs free on D: and 1 gig free on C:
and im installing to d:\
and it says i have 300mb free on C and 5gig on D and required space is 2mb, and it says i have no space! wtf?

you need about 1.1 - 1.2gb on disk C

I really tried to like it, but i just find it dull and unchallenging compared to earth2160 
theres just so many things in it that would have been great in 2000, but today there has to be some kind of logic to it.

SAME OLD BULLSHIT
I have tested this game extensivley yesterday. It's the type of RTS we've been playing for the last 5 years. I am very disappointed, like has been said It's the build, upgrade, attack routine, only with physics and kick ass graphics. There is no real strategy in this game the person with the most and most diverse units will win, there are no real tactics like flanking, ambushing and so on. The game is an arcade RTS and something for the mainstream gamer, Madre is wise not playing this.
What's wrong with this game? Nothing really, It's standard, but I am sick of standard, been playing standard since C&C so for me It doesn't do the trick anymore.
You want a revolutionary RTS game? Black & White 2 hits stores in little over a month, then you'll be truly blown away.

What you think it's impossible it will blow? I've read about B & W 2 plenty and it does sound a lot better. But any game can still come out bad.

Starcraft was a GREATt game.. but it was just generic as all the other rts (Eg age of empires.. c&C etc)
There aint nothing wrong with that.. rts games are possibly the best lan games on the planet..

There is a massive difference between starcraft and the AOE's games. In starcraft each race requires vastly different strategies with each race to be successful, and then you have to adapt that strategy depending on what race you're facing (kinda like Warcraft 3). In AOE the same basic strategy works for every nation, no matter who you are and who you're facing.

Is there anyway to install the game with less than 1 gig on c? the installation prog unpacks the install files in c:/documents and setttings/username/local settings/temp
I can't install game the game, I can get about 500 megs free on drive c but no more then...

I forgot to add that it really really hurt me that they took out the volley formation and all other formations. Such bullshit, you will never be able to do this in the game:

And that truly is a fucking shame.... on their site you see a movie with troops using volley and in their features page It's still listed but as I read on forums they have taken formations out of the game, bunch of fucking retards. The volley formation was one of the fucking coolest things and they took it out. Fuck it, let's just play AOE1, this game ain't got shit, troops go attack troops like a dog sees a rabbit and goes for it. You can read all about it here.

I just think its a matter of what you expect... If this is the same old shit then I would happily download it and go beat up my friends in lan
