they haven't officially said any date yet but one of the Developers on the forums said

"I guarantee that you will be told before May is over.

/ducks"

so maybe we find out today at the end of the live stream or Friday who knows

I presume that must be a pre-release copy in the vid? The framerate, hitching and screen-tear are shocking Shocked

I bet everything you saw in that vid represents the final product. At least on x360/ps3. Sad

Well you can't deny what you see in that video, so perhaps they're running an even older build? Or perhaps the developers screwed something up subsequent to the leak of the pnet build? Either way, that video is horrible and the reviewers speak about the poor framerate, screen tear and stuttering movement too.

Sev certainly had framerate issues too.

Well im running 16203 glitched, and I could go to the trouble of downloading the pnet release and testing it. All to find out that it tears and hitches just like in the video. Then I would have wasted my time, trying to prove a bullshitter wrong. Ergo Im a moron. Fuck that Mad

Haha, don't worry about it mate Smile The vid was enough evidence for me and all I can hope is that they fix it, if not for the 360 version at least for the PC - though vsync and framerate issues *shouldn't* be a problem for PC anyhow.

Id say the pnet rls runs at about +/- 15 fps, its really bad. At a point I was about to quit and wait for the retail, but if it still wasn't fixed it get so pissed Laughing

I don't think it would pass certification looking/performing like it does in the IGN video up there, so hopefully it's ironed out for retail. Performance issues aside, I'm still epically jealous of you guys playing this - it looks so freakin' good! Surprised

from Undead Sanya over on the official forums about fps animations etc.

"Please note, IGN's graphics were dramatically better than what you saw in the abortive Twitch stream yesterday, because that's the difference a month makes. The Twitch channel hostess was using an older build. IGN also has been totally honest with you. The tearing was their equipment - framerate and the sliding was not.

Now I'll add my own honesty, although this is in a bunch of other threads (and why I'm sort of wondering why anyone thinks the forum's all rainbows and unicorn poop - we don't flinch from the dark side, here): The sliding is not going to get fixed. It's an engine issue, and you see it in multiple AAA games, let alone our XBLA game. I also do not believe the frame is going to get better. I'm positive the animations are final.

In other words, if any of you are here for hyper-realistic graphics, you should not buy the game. It is not going to make you happy, you will not like it, and it will not change enough for you to ever like it. I wish you well, and truly honestly hope you find a forum for a game you WILL like. This. Isn't. It. I'm not going to play host to endless dissections of the visual imperfections, because it is what it is. What on earth would be the point about ranting about something that isn't going to change? It's not me suppressing negativity, it's me stipulating the issue up front. There's nothing to discuss, although you're totally welcome to mention it if it's relevant to a discussion of gameplay.

I've been paying attention to the early reviews. All of them acknowledge the issues, and say that if you like this kind of game, it just doesn't matter that much. In my own experience, that is true of any game. Give it a shot. The demo will be free. If the game doesn't do it for you, no harm no foul, and see above about wishing you the best. If it does, the forum's here for you to discuss it. "

I'm glad the tearing was due to IGNorant's incompetence, but what about the framerate? That *has* to be fixed for retail, there's no excuse about it, there's no "well if you don't like our game, don't buy it" nonsense - that framerate is absolutely unacceptable by anyone's standards Sad

There you have it! here is no way to fix a frame rate like that in 2-1 month, until the final release.

The worst part is, what was shown in the IGN video is just the tip of the iceberg. The frame rate gets horrible when driving in the bigger areas, so much that it affects gameplay; laggy controls -> making a mistake, and mistakes are fatal in a game like this due to permadeath.

I get what the guy is saying. I remember @15 years ago I was playing Unreal 2 on my shitty rig and that game had 10 min loading times and a framerate of ~10fps, but I played it to the end and that was my choice, to play it that way.
By far the lowest gaming experience of my life, to date. Laughing

My point is, it's one thing to chose to play a product like that, and it's a whole other matter to ship a product like that and say "Hey, that's that. Don't like it, don't buy it." It just comes of as a lazy/arrogant excuse.

The game's a damn mess in terms of performance and visual fidelity (jaggies, ugly shadows, ugly textures, the worst LOD I've seen, to name the most common) even for 7 years old tech.

So yeah, I agree with sabin, that's a shitty and unacceptable excuse.

I guess all that's left is to hope the PC version can brute-force through the dodgy performance.

I appreciate it, but I don't admire it.

As it is the x360/ps3 versions seem like a douchey way to make some quick cash, and work/polish the PC version. At least I'll be able to play a proper version at some point or another. Neutral

Though I wouldn't be surprised if they aply the same treatment to the PC version and focus all their efforts on the MMO. Sad

hopefully that wouldnt matter so much FPS wise, unless they fuck something up big time. As Sabin said, the PC should power through the issues.

Haha, he's full of shit, the developers have stated they're working on a PC version since the start, they just said the 360 takes priority. No PSN version though, which is just ridiculous Sad Microsoft needs to fuck right off with their paid exclusivity bullshit.

from Undead Sanya on the IGN video and how the game is still not out of certification yet its not looking good for next week but i hope I'm wrong

"They just got to the end of the tutorial area with this one, so I'd say skip the next few installments if you want to be surprised.

And basically, I was supposed to have something to announce today, but it looks like certification won't be over today. So, yeah."

Been following this game since it was announced, i was hoping they eventually fix the techincal issues but nope =(

I was hyped after reading so good things about the developer version, now you guys are saying that the frame-rate gets so bad that makes the game unplayable ....

I dont know what to do now, should i buy it?

This is my type of game, but... Sad
