Sad, Steam pre-load is active since Friday but downloads only 160 MB Sad

Strange, it downloaded here, 6,16 GB all in all but of course this new format is compressed so it will be bigger when installed/unpacked.
(The core gamefile, language files, release day update - or whatever it is - and the pre-order DLC.)

EDIT: Didn't you have a similar issue with another game when it pre-loaded?

Then I guess it's the Steam subscription that is acting up and thus it worked for me since I'm using the retail "sub", though I'd rather use the early-access one. Razz

EDIT: This must be Steam.
Remember Me With DLC1 (WW)

This is retail.

IGN review: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/06/02/remember-me-review

5.9/10

+ Ambitious ideas
+ Memory Remix sequences
- Bland platforming
- Repetitive gameplay
- Combat lacks character

CVG: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/405511/reviews/remember-me-review-pedestrian-gameplay-in-an-extraordinary-city-review/

7/10

+ Memory Remixes play like Inception meets Ghost Trick
+ Explores hot-button issues like surveillance and social media
+ A visionary world you want to explore...
- ... but you'll rarely get the chance to
- Combat frustrates, even on easy

Both reviews say the world is amazing, the game set in the world is boring and bad. And the best parts of the game, the Memory Remix sequences are only 4.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

If even IGN give a low score, then you know the game has got to be pretty bad.

It's a real shame too as from the videos and screenshots, the world looks visually spectacular, but I'll have to say I was expecting mid to low review scores.

Sounds great Smile They also mention the story to be very good. BioShock Infinite is basically a great story and game world with decent atmosphere and boring, dull gameplay. The difference? reputation, BSI got a 9.4 and this one a 5.9, they're just some unknown newcomers who didn't have the chance to lick some balls and grease some hands Wink

I'll still get it for the RU price, or else wait for it be cheaper later on this year.

I personally take IGN's reviews like a grain of salt...that said, i do feel what this game is shaping up to be... mid 7's/mid 8's ...which i've enjoyed plenty of games that on average received reviews in the mid 7's.

Here is Neogaf's Review Thread for Remember Me: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=574733

There are some new reviews linked there at that neogaf thread. Im still going to get the game.

i7 3770k @ 4.6ghz - CM Hyper 212+ (two) 120mm Push/Pull (delidded 5.0ghz stable achieved, not needed "yet")
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
Sapphire 7970 VaporX @1200Mhz core/1600 Mhz memory
16GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3 1600 - 500GB SataII HDD
XFX Core Edition 550watt PSU 80 Plus Bronze
Thermaltake Versa II Case - (six) 120mm fans
55" 2012 Panasonic Viera Plasma HDTV (dripping with all sorts of sexy pixels)
Yamaha RX-V671 Home Theater Receiver (pushing uber wattage)
Polk Fronts, Boston Rears, Klipsch center, (two) 12" Infinity Powered Subs (enough to shake my house)
Logitech MX 5500 Revolution wireless key/mouse (kick ass combo set)

I'm absolutely fine with a 7/10 game. Too many review sites, and people that depend on them, have forgotten that 6-7 is an average score and quite acceptable. Not everything has to be 8s and 9s, despite what publisher demand from Metashitic.

I was half-expecting a bad reception from the usual sites, with 'not enough Doritos and Mountain Dew' being their #1 excuse to bash it, but apparently there's really something that doesn't work here.

I'm confident that I'll still end up enjoying it thanks to the cyberpunk feel as long as I keep my expectations low. That should do the trick Razz

It's a shame that the primary feature of the game, the combat, is the one that seems to be irking most people. Oh well... ISOdemos are fun Very Happy

Yeah in these cases the mighty ISOdemos are a lifesaver. They always are to be honest, though Razz. I can't even remember the last time that I bought something without trying it first, especially these days, where the disappointment is always around the corner, lurking at us with its creepy awesome-button-shaped eyes. Very Happy

Didnt expect it to get a 5,x. Weird, i did really like it, story was cool gfx and atmosphere too. The combat was shallow and the platforming was was totally guided, true. But the story, art and sound/music design alone deserves a score higher than this.

But.. maybe im not a good judge.. i liked and finished Mars: War Logs Wink

IGN I just catn take seriously , other than that 7/10 is ok for me , i can stand awesome button platforming and mediocre batman-ish combat if atmosphere, art and story is good enough.
There is a lot of games that failed in reviews and i like them more then most of 8s and 9s.

If review scores are anything to talk about, I usually wait a few days for Metacritic scores...never count on one score, especially Ign....

Metacritic isn't much better, IMO

Between shitty game journos and bought-and-paid-for-via-advertising-and-previews reviews it really doesn't mean shit.

Remember Me is nothing more than an entirely forgettable tour de farce of archaic game design. Its horrific dialogue, sickening camera and regressive combat are major blips in a title that poses one major question: was this game worth releasing? ‘Dontnod’ is arguably the right answer.

Version Tested: Xbox 360
Campaign completed in 9 hours

+ Lovely visuals in places
- Bland, unrewarding combat
- Cringe-worthy dialogue

4/10

Noticing a strong EU vs. US scoring going on Very Happy

Anyway, the game looks fun, ISOdemo az usual. If only it would be as good as Mars:War Logs ... of course, that had very, very good combat imho. Witcher style, only loads better.

The 4/10 and derpGN (probably no exclusive previews, how dared they! Mad) reviews are the only ones that seem to differ from the majority of 7/8's so it would seem like a 7/8 game.

...whatever the fuck that means, anyway grinhurt

No.

http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/03/remember-me-game-review-short-term-memory-3825830/

Quote:
In Short: Plenty of smart ideas and some very attractive presentation, but none of the core gameplay elements work as well as they should and the game ends up sadly forgettable.

Pros: Gorgeous art design and music creates a pleasingly exotic atmosphere. Sympathetic lead character and the core ideas behind the story, memory remixes, and combat are sound.

Cons: The combat is repetitive and the enemies bland, the platforming is simplistic, and the memory remixes too few in number and too reliant on trial and error. Languid pacing.

It seems like the "game" is exactly as I thought: very cool looking with an awesome world and soundtrack, but terrible gameplay. This can go two ways for me. Apparently Bioshock Infinite is also considered by many as a game with terrible gameplay, whereas I thought it had very good gameplay. This game might be the same. Or, it might be another Alan Wake (I would say "Tomb Raider" but that terrible in pretty much every aspect).
