Is this fair or not?
Let's call the buyer 'Dumb fuck'.
Dumb fuck saw our ad on eBay for an IKEA table, it's about a year old
He decides to buy it an pay with cash, not a problem. He gets here the next day, I ask him to inspect it, he says it's fine and I help him load it onto his trailer. We tell him to load it on its head so it's flat instead of on its legs where it would wobble. Nope, Dumb fuck knows everything. So Dumb fuck loads it up on its legs and drives it 90 kilometers away.
The next day he messages and says it's sagging in the middle... so he wants a refund (after he wants to drive it back to us, another 90km).
We tell him no, he was asked to inspect it and he transported it in a way we advised him not to.
Basically he's screwed anyway. No PayPal = no buyer protection, but what would you do?

But seriously, I personally rather dump good stuff then go to a process with other people, stuff gets relocated and then second thoughts...
On the other hand I have become an anti-materialist for a reason.

eBay is one of those places that manage to insta-destroy the little faith in humanity you have left. Unbelievable. I've stopped using it a few years ago so I'm not informed about their current modus operandi in these cases, but I wish you good luck! Really hope you make that scumbag pay (literally also)

So in other words, he just piles them up, writes back that he didn't got anything, hopes that the person is stupid and cannot track back the package and then has free shit.
If the person can proof then he just finds the package in there and done, no harm done.
Smart way of scamming, i would put it on his profile tho as feedback, that you suspect this.

I used to buy loads on eBay until the "filthy masses" arrived and it went all to hell.
Between 1999 and 2005 I had some 200 auctions I won without a single hitch and I even sold some stuff. Then the idiots arrived and ruined it.
I sold Windows Vista 32 bit 5 years ago - I had bought it for myself but then discovered it didn't come with the 64 bit version so I sold it at a loss. The guy came to pick it up and then I got an email of him saying it was already activated and he wanted a refund. The thing was bought off Amazon (not from a third party either) and was brand new in shrink foil with authentic Microsoft stickers on this foil. There was also a seal preventing you from opening the box (big plastic thing) without ripping it.
So I told him this was impossible and told him he had surely seen the seal and cut it open so he would know it was unused. He evaded this question so I told him that what he had, was not an OEM version but a retail version meaning it could be activated on more than one PC anyway - and you could call a number to have the code reactivated if it ever did get locked. Obviously this was pointless since he was lying and just wanted it for free by getting a refund ....
But yeah, that was the last time I sold anything online. It's not worth it.

had my bad experience with ebay years ago when it was still pretty young. Bought my first own pc there lol. what arrived was a case and a defective mobo. Seller (which sold a ton of pcs on ebay and seemed legit) claimed they stripped it during transit or during the border inspection, ebay didnt do fuck all >_> I was crushed and lost what faith in humity I had left that day lol.
Arent there any better local sites you can use for this stuff?
