Well I don't know about that, I'd rather they made a Lovecraft game all by itself rather than try to force it into a franchise that has nothing to do with it.

Well Fallout 3 was a disaster within the canon already (Mutants on the East coast? & Vampires? Laughing). I'll get my proper Fallout/Wasteland games from inXile & Obsidan ^^.

But absolutely! They should start up the cancelled follow-up to Dark Corners of The Earth! They should have the rights for it, they did publish it afterall.

I guess I'm just a fanboy of FO3 because The Family was one of the things I really enjoyed about it, crazy cannibals living in a destroyed metro and eventually twisting themselves into believing they're vampires -- it was unique, it was fun Smile

^^ Yup, Bethesda's writing is juvenile at best (the dialogue, quests etc. are all quite bad - and only mediocre even by videogame standards). Traditionally they've been pretty good with world building but FO3 was a bit of a misstep in that regard, in that there were waayyy too many 'theme' locations just for the lulz, like Republic of Dave, Lamplight etc.. They did have lots of places to explore, and for that I can tip my hat at them, but the worldspace was too small for them all, and the end result of course was that you couldn't walk 10 meters without finding a new ruin/cave/sewer to go into. It made it much less exciting to find out what was in there; it's okay to have 'empty' spaces, too.

Skyrim was a somewhat of an improvement overall even with the terrible dungeons so hopefully they can do better with FO4. To get a hiking simulator with nice destinations (and mods, once the community matures of course) is what I play Bethesda's games for. Very Happy

Well I'll give Bethesda some credit on it's atmosphere I truly felt like i was wandering around a desolate wasteland. And when you first exited the vault, dayum!

Improvement from a huge turd is still a turd. Compared to Morrowind's dungeons, they're still for the most part much too linear and boring. And the so-called 'puzzles' were completely pathetic, too.

When most people are crying that dungeons are too hard and confusing, that's when they'd be on the right track. Laughing

Forget the morrowind dungeons, those are never coming back Laughing

And the improvement was much more than complete turd -> turd, n00b! Mad

Absolutely. The exploration, the atmosphere, the setting. All of these made me adore F3 and spend countless hours immensely enjoying it.

Bethesda should have found a way to acquire Stalker 2. That would have been nice.

Anyway FO3 is one of my favorite games, but I really don't want Obsidian near that game after NV. or they only should stick to writing.

You're the noob for liking them! Cool Face

Naw I did enjoy the unique dungeon locations in Skyrim (some of them were very well made, in fact), it's just that the linear design in the more generic ones was rather annoying.

Hello when did fallout 3 happen?

Last fallout game was fallout 2, or fallout tactics depending how you look.

Are you talking about the oblivion mod "fallout with guns"?

Turns out, some of those conspiracy-level theories about the next Fallout game were right.

After mercilessly teasing fans of the post-apocalyptic video game series earlier this week, Bethesda announced today that "Fallout: Paradise Falls" will be a mobile title released for mobile devices this summer for $9.99.

The game, which Bethesda describes as a "very-story driven action-RPG," is set alongside the events of 2008's acclaimed console and PC title "Fallout 3".

The executive game designer Emil Pagliarulo said in a press statement today that Fallout fans can expect the same "exploration, action, dialogues, player choice and consequence" seen in the previous Fallout games..

Quote:

The first Paradise Falls in-game screenshot has been released:

Quote:
While players and game developers alike tend to treat mobile games as the younger siblings of their console brethren — particularly when they are linked to an acclaimed franchise like Fallout — Pagliarulo also said that Paradise Falls will offer fans "the full Fallout experience".

He also stated that a direct sequel to Fallout 3 is not planned for anytime soon and concrete news might not see the light until later next year.
