Was in bf2, then removed in bf3 then added again in bf4...does that still make it a new feature?
Just because you have extremely low standards and only bitch about "important" stuff doesn't mean everyone else should just bend over and take it up the bumhole.

No.
Because you seem to have an IQ under 75 and not understand the concept of an open forum about games you seem to think that's it's all just praise and roses. I, like many others, are making our voices heard about what we dislike and about what we think is wrong.
All you are doing is "U dun liek teh gaem so u mast SHATTAP u fagz!".

No, you're missing my point. The point is that previous BF iterations did not have a bigger impact. Version number aside, even if it is 3.1 - how was moving from 1942 to BF2 any better considering they still reused some of the same maps?
Oh, and if you want to throw that at me Preffy, then please start bitching about the two expansions for 1942 within 10 months, the Vietnam mod..errr, game within less than 18 months. Again, 3 packs for BF2 within a year (waiting for the comments about the "booster" word ). Overall, these packs did not a single fucking thing more than any of the BF3 DLC did. And they all cost, if I remember correctly, 10 EUR here - they were almost all made free years later, but weren't at launch. Which is the same as any of the DLC now. Doesn't mean I like it, but that's the way it is.
CoD instead is yearly (it's been 2 years with this one), has featured no graphical updates worth speaking of, has featured no new weapons worth speaking of (they're all almost identical anyway). Sure, each iteration has had new maps to some extent, but given their simplicity that's hardly a feat.
You're free to bitch about this game, but please bitch about earlier versions of BF just the same then. They were not the huge gamechangers every time as you claim them to be now.
As for warriormax's comment, I'm not sure I really care about having more classes (2142 only had 4 as well and that seems to be very loved by "veterans"). What I do want is more distinction between them. Move suppression back to support only, reduce the number of shared weapons between the classes (some people just run with a UMP on everything ). If more classes is how they'd do it, by all means, let's have it.

Well, Vietnam added heli's but you're right that it wasn't an actual expansion. And I agree that it's pretty crap. However, 1942 to BF2 was quite a jump due to them actually adding things from Desert Combat and having that team on-board. And I agree that the add-on packs fro BF2 were also cheap cash-ins.
But then again, both Vietnam and the add-ons for BF2 weren't full price but stil costl more than a DLC (btw, didn't buy any of them).
And I would bash on them here, however this is about BF4 and not about older versions of the franchise.
The only reason I bought the premium pack for BF3 was because it was dirt cheap (1/5 of the actual cost) which I thought was a fair price for a couple of map packs. Honestly, I'm against DLC's (map packs in this case) as a whole since I've hardly ever seen a DLC that was worth it's price (one exception to the rule is GTA4: EFLC).
And yes, I do think this is very similar to how CoD does it. Adds new purdy and shiny guns, adds some maps, throws around some perks (in this case the commander mode) and then asks full price for it.

iirc, BF2 was done with the guys who did DC in the first place, no ? And once done, they got tossed out again. And then they went on and did some abysmal fps on their own.

Frontlines: fules of war and then homefront.
Both had good ideas but horrible execution.
What's your point?

I'll give it a shot at the alpha(?)/beta(?) access for BF3 premium members but I doubt I'll end up getting it.
Perhaps if the average doucheness of your (nowadays) typical BF player decreases and... yeah right

EXACTLY the same bullshit as BF3 - the game is presented on PC while the leading platform were the consoles. Who cares if the demo will be played on 4k res and AMD GPUs in Xf, if the game will be a console port.

I'm not expecting huge changes since BF3 -despite its numerous flaws and balance issues- was pretty solid gameplay-wise, I just want maps with good design for the Conquest Mode (which is and should be BF's #1 priority) and Rush, possibly open, without exploitable areas and nowhere as tiny as the ones seen in the terribad Close Quarters pack (that I've played only once).
New guns/vehicles/features are also very welcome of course, as long as they don't streamline the gameplay even more. It's already very fast and "pick 'n play", making it more accessible would be like killing the franchise for me - but I don't think they will be that dumb.

Did BF3 look bad or like a console port on PC?

Thats not the point. The point is that they cut features from the PC version because they care only for the console versions and they just throw this dust into the eyes of the PC players - hey look we will run the game on PC on 4k res..

Important gameplay additions is where it's at, no matter if graphics are the same, new maps and new guns don't justify a full priced title either. Improve the gameplay to previous BF titles level, and there you'll have a winner.

In BF3 all those weapons mean nothing. They will add 20-30 new weapons so what? In the end everybody will be using the same 5 guns like in BF3 - AEK, SKS, P90, M16.. you know. Maybe not exactly the same weapons but still there will be 4-5-6 weapons which are OP and nobody is bother using something else.

As much as I like to think that the gameplay will be consistently improved, I'm pretty confident that it will remain the same, only with minor tweaks. Making it more BF2-like would scare all the new people away, and DICEA don't want that (sadly)
