That must be why I have them all except the last two
I love CoD but there aren't even weapon changes anymore. Couple that with the ancient engine, the fact that it's a solo shooter in reality and...meh.
Quote: | - New commander mode
- Spectator mode (which should be standard for an FPS but ok)
- New maps
- (slightly) updated graphics
- more destruction (which was removed from BF3)
- new weapons/vehicles
Now let's see what a DLC adds
- New maps
- New weapons/vehicles
- New skins for soldiers/weapons |
But the amount of it all is still more than one pack. Now if you said two packs, then I could agree, except for one little detail: there's also important gameplay changes, which is the most important part. The changes themselves are small perhaps, but their impact is not (assuming some of our assumptions are correct). That is far more valuable than any amount of maps, weapons, vehicles or settings. To me anyway
It's not about what it adds, but what it changes and how.

They kept changing and tweaking with patches (when each DLC came out). So that was also done during BF3 and it's DLC's.
And the only changes that I can think of are counter-knifing and suppression unless I missed/forgot something.
And suppression was changed quite a bit since BF3 alpha to present (changed for the worse and they're fixing it now).
Then again, you could remove "more destruction" from that list since it was in alpha but then removed on release. And spectator mode is something that normally should be standard in MP FPS games.
Edit:
I'm still watching the tiwch.tv feed and they (the commentators) keep repeating "pre-order now and you get shiny stuff".

Anyway, are there still some hacky ways to buy it from Origin with cheaper prices? (as many did with BF3 ...)

This is partly why I'm not excited about Battlefield 4. I would have prefered a sequel to 2142 instead of another modern military shooter, but we all know EA calls the shots and they want moar MMS.
Can you imagine Battlefield 2143 on the latest Frostbite engine? It would be amazing, but nooo, we need MORE M16 variants and M1 Abrams. >.>
At least Titanfall and Destiny offer some futuristic action, but AFAIK, neither play like Battlefield.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

True..but let's look on the bright side, a well made Battlefront is the best way to make us forget about the lack of BF2142 (at least partially)

It seems the unrealistic "ammo pools" aren't coming back. In case it's not clear for some, that means if you shoot 12 bullets out of your 30 bullet mag and reload just after that you will be effectively throwing away18 bullets that you'll never get back. More illustrative explanation here:

So much for putting the partial mag back into your ammo pouch/vest, where you could use it later if need be.
That change is about as realistic as all those "hardcore" shooters that don't let you see how many magazines you have left (as if you couldn't look down and check in real life?), or not showing you at least a rough estimation of the ammo in your clip (lots of AR's have clear plastic mags now, also you could more or less estimate based on the weight of a full or empty mag - full, half, close to empty).
It's times like these where realism borders stupidity. Hopefully DICE don't overdo it - we have enough ammo/medpack spammers/point farmers in BF3 already.

Nope. Not overdone, it actually hits a sweet spot of balance between realism and viable gameplay. You don't like it? Campaign for it to be removed (if it isn't spontaneously removed by DICE themselves before the beta is over that wouldn't surprise me) just like people over at Mordor campaigned for it to be included. As simple as that Otherwise, deal wih it.
The main benefit of doing it that way is how it will affect gameplay, in a positive way. I already mentioned about increasing the importance of the support class, always a good thing But I'm sure there's other benefits that can be obtained from it.
Also,

here how it works in bf3 (this shows AGAIN how little you actually know about the game)
50% and above , auto repairs after a short delay back to 100%
below 50%, vehicle "burns" and loses health gradually until destruction.
Once a vehicle burns, it needs to be repaired manually (by an engineer) back to a 100% or it will keep losing Hitpoints.
Tank was above 70%, so i guess they kept the currently used model of regeneration.
The chopper in the earlier clip was on fire and someone had to manually repair it.
Again warriormax (!) you are the pinnacle of cluelessness in this thread. Others bitch and moan a lot and hate on the game, but you really don't have any clue at all about what you are talking about.

see, again you make no sense ...
you don't care how it works, as long as its in the game ? then why do you keep talking about it, if you HAVE NO CLUE.
you are just a clueless little kid and i think everybody has realized this by now.
