the lag is very slight now but it still feels like you have to turn quite violently to get it to really react... the car just feels very dead on the road... no real enjoyment that you get back from it as opposed to other sims....
Plus playing with the steering lock you can eliminate that dreaded "travelling fast and swaying from side to side" but then the car becomes more like a bus and turning is soooo slow..
Not convinced, was going to buy this title with friends to play against each other but decided not to in the end as we arent convinced by the physics model at all.
Great crashes though

Hehe if you're used to proper sims like GTR2, iRacing or rFactor it's understandable, despite the mods it will never be as simulative and rewarding as them, there's nothing to do
so is there any place where i could find wallpapers from the pics from the menu in shift2? where you can change between career, option, online and so on and the camera just goes in circles around that car; there are some nice pics there
ive reached the drifts events, holy fuck that music and that fucker yelling, its worse than grid 2 ; also overall i find the game much worse than the first game
Fucking Shift 2. Have this game on Steam and it doesn't even work Every time I launch it always wants to activate. After activating nothing happens, no game...
In a lengthy interview with SpotTheOzzie, Ian Bell spilled the beans and revealed how EA tried to destroy Slightly Mad Studios. As Ian Bell claimed:
“We made a game called Need for Speed: Shift, we made a game called Shift 2 and EA came to me and said <<We’ll give you 1.5 million if you agree not to talk to any other publisher, to agree any other games or work on any other arrangement with any other publisher. And we’ll give you 1.5 million and we’ll sign Shift 3>>. So I said OK. That sounds like a good deal. I took the 1.5 million, I paid the guys, lots of bonuses, and two weeks before we were due to start Shift 3 it was cancelled. With no warning. They said <<We are not doing that anymore.>>”
Ian Bell then claimed that EA tried to destroy the company, that they tried to f*ck them over, and that they tried to steal their technology.
“We were in trouble, we had nothing left. We were done. They literally destroyed our company. They tried to kill us, they tried to steal our technology as well. They tried to f*ck us over, there is no other way to put it. That’s what they tried to do. And we have no love for EA and this company.”
Ian Bell concluded that EA’s guys are a**holes, that he has no respect for EA, that he’ll never make a deal with them again, that they are horrible human beings and that they are corporate monsters.
A deal that bad for 1.5 million? Why even accept that?
EDIT: Well obviously I wouldn't have any insight into how this went down but they shipped Shift 1 and 2 and things were going well and they probably could have found other publishers interested so why settle for so little money for binding yourself to EA with cash that lasts for likely not very long at all for AAA development budgets.
EDIT: And it's nice to treat your employees well but don't start spending by sending bonuses and such until you have the project your meant to work on signed and under contract.
