I had very low hopes but Family Guy's S10 was surprisingly entertaining . It's clearly a different kind of humor though, either you like it or hate it..so I perfectly understand. xD |
i think i only laughed at like 4 episodes in total ever since family guy came back. i mean the first season when it came back was typical gold. but after that...

meh
for me, there is a VERY clear dividing line between the original and the later iteration. it ended, beautifully, with fry and leela kissing in frys holophonor creation, and walking off hand in hand. that was the perfect end of futurama.
to me, that was the final. a fine episode, and a great ending, that capped off the show wonderfully.
then we had an epic standalone movie (for the sake of making my point, ima avoid the intro 'back on the air' pun, and the open ending )
after that, came 'nuFuturama'. it was never the same futurama, and i never considered it as such. it was a completely new show, far as im concerned. the original show is untarnished, in my mind. i still love it to bits, and regularly enjoy randomly picking episodes to watch from my hdd.

I couldn't agree more, well said chiv. That really was the best ending to Futurama and it fit the show perfectly. I mean, the episodes that came after aren't the worst things on TV, but there's just no magic left in it

I agree that the ending was perfect, but I'm always glad to have more Futurama then nothing at all. It's not like I'm suffering or something.

ill admit i DID actually laugh a couple of times (so it already one-ups the last few episodes), but the episode was still pretty forgettable and stupid...

I'm getting kinda pissed that they continually dismiss previous interactions between certain characters in the ComedyCentral run. Calculon and Bender should act like they have history, yet in the paparazzi episode it was as if they never even met. Not to mention that it seems they pretty much killed him off at the end of that episode. Did you guys notice that little tidbit?
Same with Elzar. In the Oktoberfest episode, Bender was gushing at him when he saw him, yet he should act all superior since he beat him in the Iron Chef episode.
Now they also altered the robot elders, and the Donbot was also seemingly oblivious that Bender was once his henchman. These little nuggets of lazy writing really add up to a big pile of shit.

new one was ok-ish, but not that great either.
Sad to see the quality of this once brilliant show go down the slope of averegeness

Just watched both last episodes, first one was fucking awesome bender one.
Second was kinda shitty, had some laughs in it tho.

This season seems to be built around moments of laughter rather than some generally good episode plot.
Just too damn sad.

Well, it was a good try.
http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/04/22/futurama-not-renewed-comedy-central/
To be honest, a few sporadic really good episodes are really not enough to hide the other mediocre or just utterly forgettable (or downright baaaaad) ones of the new run. Give it another good sendoff, and maybe the fans can leave it in peace now. I know I can.

yeah, the new season wasn't much to write home about ... they better go back to making movies on a yearly/half yearly basis.

New episode out. Nothing special, kinda the same quality as the new seasons' average.

Last episode: so long and thanks for all the shiny metal asses.
They were trying to be emotional, but didn't manage it. Weak sendoff to a once great show.
