It's not exactly a Russian key, but still... 25% saving is nothing to sneeze at. You can put the €12.50 you save from this into a fund for the new PC you'll need to run it Cool Face

I'm gonna ISO demo it for the SP. That shoddy peer2peer and simplified MP broke my heart.
Fuck you Relic.

Maybe I'll grab it for dirt cheap on a Steam sale in the years to come.

Those are for the SP right? Because the peer2peer MP doesn't deserve such ratings.

C&C4 was capped at 30fps too Also, so was RA3 - though at least that can be uncapped.

Those engines were capped at 30fps to provide fair lagless experience for multiplayer (so dev said).

but coh uses different engine so wtf

Then the devs are fucking idiots, because none of the original C&C titles nor Generals had a 30fps cap and they're some of the most beloved competitive strategy games on the PC. Just shows that the true C&C talent left EA a long time ago, which would also explain why both C&C3/C&C4 and RA3 were so disliked.

I'd probably buy this if not for the P2P BS. Sick of laggy games and people dropping. You think they'd learn .. eventually. Guess not

Yup, that's exactly what keeps me from buying it too. It was horrible enough for CoH1... and I don't want to deal with that again. Especially not in 2013.

The balance is also broken when you go over level 40. The game is fun, but they have a lot of things to fix.

The p2p multiplayer surprisingly isn't that bad. You get some lags and drops, but not nearly as bad a CoH1. I encourage you to try it out.

I tried it out since closed Alpha. It's just as bad as it was in CoH1. Every dropping player is bad, the lags are bad and that you still can't reconnect is also bad. Drophacks will make a return too.

It's horribly bad. Period.

There's only one E3 demo showcase mission though I am unsure if AI skirmish is available but it's a bit different.

Unsure how the SP component in this game will be handled, if it's a linear mission to mission campaign or something more open with different factions and such or territorial control, haven't read much at all about the game.

But Generals, Red Alert 2, and Tiberian Sun had terrible slowdowns when you had a player connecting on ancient hardware. And I do mean a Sad, as it started to run horrible even if only one guy had an old machine.

I played Generals and RA2 for years, hundreds upon hundreds of hours and it never slowed down when someone else had a poor machine. The only time RA2 started to slow down was on custom maps where both players (or more) had non-aggression pacts for a certain time, letting everyone build up their armies. When THOSE armies met, that's when slowdown happened, but it sure wasn't to do with someone's crap PC joining the game.

Did you play them immediately when they came out? I might remember wrong about RA2 but generals was horrible and I remember that quite clearly. A couple of friends and I played the shit out of it back when it was released and there was always 1 or 2 guys who brought shitty PCs and funny enough they slowed every one else down. Which was one of the reason why they were the first to go down Cool Face

Aye, pretty much bud! My flatmate and I snagged Generals when it first came out and our machines could barely run it without turning stuff down, but our individual machines didn't globally affect performance for everyone else, of that I'm near certain.

nah at the start of generals it was one of the bugs that caused horendous slowdowns but i rarely had those when i played online in the very start.

But yeh i'm wondering how the mp is gonna turn out i sure hope it's not going to be a repeat of dawn of wars broken mp where even today it's a bloody pain when me and a bud play ulti apoc mod and it takes us between 15 mins and an hour to actually get into each others games where even a direct connect doesn't allways solve the issue (really fun when your both in the game yet one doesn't show up due to various lobby bugs, and with that i meant on map had that a week or 2 ago)
