Rofl, gotta love the double standards on this forum Laughing

You make fun of people that don't notice 30 fps difference, but me noticing 3 fps difference is something to make fun of as well Laughing

Hell i even notice difference between 91-125-250 fps where as 125 has been the smoothest for me so far, 250 was too high for my likes..

Rofl, first part in the sewers where you blow up the bounce castle thingy, 15 fps Laughing
Poorly coded.. lemme guess, Activision?

I also notice a 3fps difference in that scenario and anyone technically minded would know that it's because you actually get 30fps momentarily three times each second. At 60fps 60hz vsync'd, there's ~16ms between each new frame appearing on your screen. At 57fps though, there's three dropped frames in that second, which means there's three gaps of ~33ms where a new frame doesn't appear. These gaps stick out to the eye clear as day.

I keep VSync disabled anyways but isn't tripple-buffering supposed to help with that issue?

I expected something better from high moon. I only played it for 20 minutes, but it´s not what I expected. Melee and shooting feels bland. Graphics are way below average and feels like a ps2 regarding level design. Hope it gets better after the first level :/

No. Double-buffered vsync would drop the FPS to 30 and keep it there until it was possible to run 60fps again. So 57fps double buffered wouldn't be 57fps, but 30. 57 triple buffered would be 57fps, but still adhere to the rule of matching a full new frame to a display refresh, thus 16ms for most frames and 33ms for the dropped frames.

Vsync disabled just means you get part of the frame in time and the rest of the frame late. It doesn't mean you get equal frame intervals, not in the least.

Ok i appreciate the humor they tried to inject into the game, but it doesn't make the actual gameplay any less boring. Very bland and generic, killing stuff just isn't much fun.

And i can't decide if i should play with KB or gamepad.

Yeah, still the same.

With or without vsync, game stays on 57 fps...

But this was to be expected from Activision Laughing

I feel sorry for the people that don't like it. This game is fucking awesome! I can't even begin to say what I find cool about it and what I don't. I'll just leave it at: I LOVE IT! It feels oldschool and I'm more than fine with that. It kind of makes me feel like I felt when I was a kid and I was playing that Spiderman game from 2001, only it's a lot crazier, of course!

I will finish this game for two reasons. One its short and second because of all the humor in the game.
This game could've been GOTY with better graphics and game mechanics.

What about the reverse situation? 9/10 of UE3 games have a cap of 62fps. That doesn't fit neatly with a 60Hz refresh rate (assuming no vsync).

Yet people never complain 62 feels weird and they'd rather have 60, or I have missed such complains.

About how long was it? I got a list a mile long of games to play. Maybe I'll play this and try to not let it sit on hard drive for a year + like half the stuff I've got. Also, if it's anything like Wolverine was, I personally loved the combat in that game.

People will get 60 new refreshes per second, all consisting of split frames. These split frames will have one part of the frame from an earlier point in the engine's timeframe and the other part later. Thus the smoothness suffers since while your screen is updating at regular ~16ms intervals, parts of the screen will be from another point in time than the other and these parts shift around all the time, creating a noticeable judder effect.

Many people playing vsync disabled many never even have really witnessed how fluid 60fps @ 60hz vsync enabled is visually as long as that fps is kept steadily all the time without any dips. The cost is additional input lag.
